Would like to Owings or maybe Pollock leading off.

Arroyo versus Wainwright, tough matchup. Go Bronson.

We don't have a leadoff hitter. But Gibby settled on Parra batting leadoff vs. righties and Pollock vs. lefties. I am glad he made a decision and narrowed it down to a regular platoon. It took him a long time.

I never thought much of Pollock as a hitter. But he was just selected NL co-player of the week along with Puig. He has produced better and more consistently than I ever expected.

He is solid. As long as he is not pressured to become a superstar. He is a great fielder and a complementary player in the lineup.

That lineup is odd. They said on the radio that Prado didn't make the trip because he was still in the valley getting tested for his blurred vision.

The broadcast said Prado stayed behind, his appt went fine and then flew out this morning.

When a team is up against one of the best and on their way to a 1-hit shutout, it is time for some strategy.

Not once did we see a D-back try to bunt for a base hit. I would like the team I root for to have a manager with the know-how to try to make things happen.

Nothing Gibson does inspires this team.

Here is a perfect example of why I believe Gibson's days should be numbered.

It is about his mentioning "how much he liked AJ Pollock and Chris Owings together in the lineup". Then he immediately did an about-face and end with vagueness.

If it is driving me crazy, how is it affecting the players? The man is afraid to make a commitment.

A day after center fielder A.J. Pollock was named the National League's co-Player of the Week, Gibson mentioned how much he liked Pollock and Chris Owings together in the lineup.

"That's pretty dynamic," he said. "Those guys both. They're young, eager, can pressure our opponent. They've got some sock in their bat. They're going to be seeing some at-bats up there."

But on Tuesday, Gibson had Gerardo Parra at the top of his order with Owings batting second. Pollock was in the No. 6 spot.

"Parra is fine there," Gibson said. "I'll get (Pollock) up there eventually. Against a lefty, I'll probably get him and Owings up there again. We're getting there. I like it the other way right now. I just think that's the way I want to do it right now."

And Pollock, who hit 6th yesterday, has been demoted back to 8th. How to motivate the player-of-the-week. Yeah, right!

Really hard to explain any logic for what Gibby does with the batting order... Just stupid!

Also, I am soooo tired of watching our guys take strike one - which is almost always a grooved fast ball... While the other teams hop all over the first pitch they see! Wtf??? Who the hell is coaching these guys????? Damn!

And Cahill loads the bases with no out, and Owings can't reach home on a routine grounder... Game over. Though Miggy should've been able to make the play on the Owings throw...

Disagree, that would of been a great play to make that play on such a horrible throw. It's not like a catcher' glove is like a first baseman's glove, plus you have a guy chugging down the line.

Inciarte ....... the only player who could make Gosewisch a #7 hitter

Gosewisch ... the only player who could make Pennington a #6 hitter

Pennington .. the only player who could make Pollock a heart-of-the-order hitter

Pollock, Pennington, Gosewisch and Inciarte ..... the 5-6-7-8 hitters who make Aaron Hill our big bopper at cleanup.

Kevin Towers the GM who, as we've been reading, lets his manager dictate his job performance.

True, a GM and manager should be in sync. They are just in the wrong sync.

The D-backs batting order. Everything but the kitchen sync -- er, sink.

And we've watched the D-backs sink. :)

Why do you bat Miley in the 7th??

Questionable for sure... Tie game. Top of 7th. Miley was pitching well so Gibby wanted to have him on the mound...
What was more concerning to me was Gibby's response in the post-game interview...

And, if it had been me, I would've pinch hit for Miley in that situation... I can see the argument for leaving him in, but, when you're bouncing off the bottom of the garbage pile in MLB, you gotta be more aggressive than that!

But Miley had been hit hard the previous inning. Should have been a no-brainer to pull him.

Miley is not a bad hitter for a pitcher.

But he not a good hitter for a hitter.

Of course he should have been pinch-hit for.

Every once in awhile, you meet someone who is just out of touch with what works best. Or you see him managing your home team baseball club.

Although an article on AzCentral.com didn't use this title for an article they ran, the AzRepublic did. The title was "Recovery Mission".

The first person I thought of was Tony LaRussa. Really!

But the article was about Cody Ross' broken hip.

Perhaps we should be calling LaRussa's job Recovery Mission. I hope it's not Mission Impossible :)
