Hopefully Benson will cheat on her and she will extend her rule of sleeping with the whole team into the entire city.

I'll take sloppy seconds, or in that case, thousands!! In all honesty, keep Benson as far away from this roster as possible. I'm sure the Mets come to BOB next year and we can gawk at his HOT wife then

Benson sucks. No way Pitt takes on Javys contract. If they do, we better get more than Wells  and Snell  . Ughh :(

Snell is solid. Pittsburgh could definately do worse.

Also, I crossed paths on the Tampa rumor. Gaithright is on the block, not Crawford.

What is this teams deal with young players????????????

Why cant we let these kids play before we trade them off for some overpaid chump?????????????

If we trade Jackson,Quinton,or Drew for for Pierre. Byrnes should be fired on the spot.

No way we trade Jackson. He's our opening day 1B. I heard these rumors on Wed and nothings been done so obviously Byrnes doesn't want to move any of the "Big 3." Plus, it's all speculation that the Marlins want one of these guys. They could want other prospects of which I'd give up in a second for Pierre. As I said before, I'm not going to pass any judgment on pure speculation. We'll see, we prob won't even trade for him. I'm more worried about the Javy trade right now. I can see it now, Benson will be our opening day starter

Gathirght is a solid player. Can play all OF positions well, speed, glove, hits for contact. I'd love to see an outfield in 4 years of Upton, Quentin, Gathright.

I never said we'd trade Javy for him. I never even suggested a trade for him. I'd just like to see him in a DBacks uniform.

The only way that would happen is in a 3 way deal (With say Boston or Anaheim) or we offer Santos and prospects (Which is highly unlikely).

Likewise. That guy is the fastest in baseball. I wouldn't mind one bit seeing Arizona go after him.

No, but I don't think Javy's name was insinuated.

I heard today on 910 AM that the Yankees were in serious talks to acquire Pierre form the Marlins. Florida wanted Cano for Pierre and the Yanks told them to f off. If they want Cano from the Yanks, they have to be demanding a lot from us. I dont know about that. This offseason is too boring so far.

Pierre in pinstripes?
Dec 2 - Don't be surprised if Juan Pierre fills the Yankees' center field void. According to The New York Post, the cash-dumping Marlins have asked for lefty Sean Henn and right-handed reliever Scott Proctor for Pierre, and the Yankees didn't reject the offer.

What makes Pierre attractive is that it's likely a one-year deal, since Pierre (arbitration eligible after making $3.7 million in 2005) can become a free agent after the season and the 2007 class of free-agent center fielders will include Andruw Jones, Torii Hunter and Mike Cameron.

The Marlins also are shopping Pierre to Texas for pitching prospects and perhaps outfielder Laynce Nix, who annoyed Ranger brass by not playing winter ball after missing a good part of the season with an injury. According to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Mariners also have inquired about Pierre.

Makes too much sense. Pierre will be in NY for a year then look for Andruw Jones to retire a Yankee

Henn and Proctor?? Damn, the Yankees are committing larceny AGAIN.

I wasn't happy about what the marlins got for luis ... if the marlins settle for that yankees deal i'll be livid

sending one of my favorites to the evil empire for pretty much nothing when there are other suiters and many needs for position players in the farm (and roster...........)

i seriously may have to flip to a twins fan if that were to happen

The last Fish
Dec 7 - According to ESPN.com's Jayson Stark, the Marlins have tentatively agreed on a four-player deal that would send Juan Pierre to the Cubs for three young pitchers -- Sergio Mitre and prospects Renyel Pinto and Ricky Nolasco. The deal is pending physicals examinations

We all knew we were done in the Pierre sweepstakes. This is just a report but would make sense

How many young pitchers are the Marlins going to acquire this post-season?

I think they are smart because they acquiring pitchers with talent which is harder to do than acquire position players.

They also put themselves in a good position barganing chipwise if they ever need a position player.
