Judging by Twitter, it seems like a lot of
#Dbacks fans jumped off the Torey Lovullo bandwagon last night.
I'm not off the bandwagon, but Torey has been fumbling through the last couple weeks so the criticism is totally warranted.
He needs to dial back all these pre-season guidelines he set for himself. We need to start using stronger lineups and stop putting out the "we dont need to win this one" lineups as Dude calls them.
He needs to be more in tune with his pitchers and stop being a slave to some expectation of 21 outs and manage situationally.
There's just no excuse last night to leave Walker in the game. It made zero sense. The team is STRUGGLING offensively, Walker was over 80 pitches and is a terrible hitter. He's not freaking Randy Johnson where you just cant bring yourself to take him out. It was a dumb move and I really think it cost us the game regardless of what happened in the latter innings.
Torey is a young manager, this is his first time as the head honcho so I expected him to make some mistakes, the test will be how he reacts to them. If he learns from his mistakes and keeps this train rolling I'm never getting off the wagon!
