I'm pretty pissed really. Got a little excited about the wins in the beginning and then they go 1-5 with one more game with LA and then San Diego. Its not looking good!

Look if they can keep it at 500 or better I will be happy. This is a much better team than last year IMO.

that was the first D-Backs game I've been to in probably a decade. It was boring as hell, but always nice to walk out of an opposing stadium with a W... and my life, especially in Hell A.

This is what concerns me for the rest of the season, moving forward:

These pitching stats are atrocious and show no improvement from last season. Not even a glimmer of hope.

I wonder what it was this time last year.

Hey what do you know; 0 errors, and we win... It's amazing how much easier it is when you aren't giving away free bases all game...

Nice win, OUTSTANDING effort by Walker, Bradley and Rodney!

What if I told you the Dbacks would start out with 4 series against nothing but playoff teams and would come out of it 8-5 at this point?

I dont know if people expected us to keep up a .875 winning percentage all season or what, but I still say it's a little early to be jumping off the bandwagon. The Dodgers are a really good baseball team. The Giants and Indians are also really good baseball teams, and thus far we've held our own while playing like crap in a lot of ways. This team has warts forsure but they are all still settling in, the new manager will settle into some lineups and we'll probably wind up around .500 like you said. If this team can just stay in the hunt during the summer instead of being completely out of it by June, that would be a HUGE step forward and I think they will do that and more.

I'm enjoying the heck out of this season so far!

What do you guys think about Archie Bradley being a closer down the line. (Not this year).
I think if he continues pitching like he is and throwing 97, I think you'd have to consider it. When he has confidence and is dealing, he is throwing fire. At least for right now. Who knows how he will do when it's 1 run lead in the 9th. He definitely has peaked my interest as a possible closer in the future. But do the DBacks want to give up on him as a starter yet?

Of course I miss this game(might be why they won :p). I am by no means jumping of the bandwagon at all, just pissed at some of the bone head errors that has been showing up the last few games. Most of the errors have been the deciding factor.

The errors are really an anomaly for the team, I think/hope. They will start playing better like they did today (I didn't watch the game). Baseball is really a game of pitching and defense. It looks like both might be starting to come around. Hopefully we can get out of town with another win tomorrow.

Speaking of Archie, I hope the team doesn't trade him now.:sarcasm:

You got it. I don't care how they got to 8 and 5. 3 very good teams I will take it.

Good Lord. The hate on local talk radio today has been so OVER-THE-TOP that I couldn't even stop listening to it on my drive to and from today... Doug Franz just ranting and raving; 200 million dollars!?!?!? This guy is a joke! He's the worst Free Agent of all time!

Bickley was just as bad. Man our talk radio guys are just bad. I can take them criticizing ZG, he deserves it after that outing. I could take; This is unnacceptable, has to do better, needs to be an ace, he's the leader, etc etc.

But this hyperbole; HE'S A JOKE, "Clown", "Worst FA ever" I mean cmon guys. In his first 2 starts he was 1-0 with a 2.20 ERA. It's one bad outing. Calm yourselves.

It cracks me up because they all went off the deep end like this last year, then they were completely silent during ZG's 10-1 stretch of the season, but are quick to pile back on with the hate.

It is silly to hate on Zack Greinke because the team ownership/management gave him a ludicrous contract.

As a last resort, sure. But I think he should be next in line for a rotation spot after Shelby Miller fails again.

That whole station kind of sucks right now. Gambo is actually "the good one", which is crazy.

I would think that the D-backs are biding their time with Bradley for this very reason. Or if anyone else should pitch their way out of the rotation.

DWKB said:
Why waste his ability to go multiple innings on a one inning job?

Of course you know that a closer's role is more important than "a one inning job". It is the final inning, especially the bottom of the 9th on the road. There is no safety net.

I read that Rodney's history is putting the winning runs on base, then trying to pitch his way out of the jam. We're not going to move ahead that way. And the fans are not going to like it.

Rofl now Peralta gets thrown out. This team is just too aggressive for their own good

Should be two on no outs for goldy instead it's 2 outs nobody on.

I think both could have and should have been safe.
