- Lamb and Owings, I'm sure you would agree, play positions that involve twice as many chances, with those chances involving a far higher degree of difficulty and what a left fielder deals with...

- I remain convinced that Tomas is an American League DH... and doesn't belong in the NL. So, left field, right field... he's a liability anywhere...
Yes, they do involve more chances, but Lamb somehow gets a pass for his horrid Defense, while Tomas gets crucified. Why is that?

One could make the same argument about Lamb - more of a DH than a position player.

Your defensiveness of Tomas keeps getting in the way of objectivity Jon...
How does Lamb "get a pass" in relation to Tomas?
Lamb is not a top fielding third baseman... I don't believe anyone here, or anywhere, has ever said this. In fact, I, along with others have pointed out Lamb's defensive issues, as well as Owings...
So where is the "pass?" Both Lamb and Owings have never given anyone a reason to question their spirit and desire. The same can't be said of Tomas... and yet, Tomas remains our starting left fielder... Who is getting the "pass?"

The Tomas play was absolutely the confirmation of all our worst fears when he got put at the position. A completely lazy play that cost the team.

I've been as frustrated with Lamb and Owings as anyone on the board, but I have yet to feel like any of their errors were caused by lack of effort. You just cant allow that.

I'm fine with that philosophy as a manager: I'll be patient with errors, but I have zero tolerance for laziness or quitting on a play...

I don't have an issue with Tomas being taken to task for being lazy.

How many errors do you have tolerance for?

If you've seen my posts about Owings and Lamb, not much...

I dont like the comparison, because I feel like Lamb and Owings had earned a timeout earlier in the year. I think maybe after your 3rd you get a chance to think about what you've done. lol

So it may be true that Yaz has a quicker hook, but ya know, he's a bigger target. :p

Oh well I'm still on board.

Me too, Nats are REALLY tough at home (in the regular season) and we held our own while being down a couple of key players due to illness, and with the back end of the pitching rotation including a minor league pitcher who's not ready yet....

Now we've got to go to Colorado and take 2 of 3.

Actually encouraged by this series. to give up only 9 runs in 3 games against the Nats is good (while scoring 9 against their pitching.

A few plays here and there (Owings, Tomas, Drury I'm looking at you) and we win yesterday.

Not having Miller hurt today. Not sure why they went with Shipley instead of Godley.

I didn't see the game, thankfully, but, all I can say is, why pitch someone who walks so many? That drives me up a wall.:x

Well, we're kindof in a tough spot. Judging by the lineup and putting shipley out there, they pretty much conceded this game.

I think we pretty much know what we have in Godley, but we need to find out what Shipley can do...

This organization is basically begging someone to step up and take that 5th spot so they dont have to move AB, who is absolutely killing it where he's at right now.

Not saying its right or wrong, but I feel like that's the thinking right now.
