In my lifetime, I've never seen a team use more position players at pitcher than the Padres. Very strange.

What is so encouraging to me is that we are winning without having to rely on Goldy. This team is no longer Goldy or Bust. 10 wins and Goldy has had very little to do with that. Bodes well for the rest of the season.

I think it's time to resolve ourselves that Goldy will never be the Goldy of 2013-(mid)2015.

Since Aug of 2015, he's put up a line of .288/.404/.490, which is good, but not all world for a 1B.

Oh I'm there for sure. I love the guy. He's a model team player. Almost too perfect actually. But his offense has become merely good... not great and barely all star worthy.

D-Backs finally have a rotation to challenge the likes of SF and LA. Very impressed with the back end of Walker, Ray and now Miller seems to have found his focus. Bullpen also drastically improved.

SD was saving it's pen for the rest of this series. Wise move, imo.

I really liked seeing them add in the SS that has never pitched before. Was pretty fun to watch and Herrman almost struck out. I noticed a smile on him when he got his 2nd strike. It was pretty funny to see.
