What are our expectations? We are 10-7 against some stiff competition with 2 straight losses with quality pitching starts. At this point we are a .500 team playing well.

That's just it. The last series was the one they should have won. SD stinks as a team, but yet the Dbacks made their pitchers look like aces.

They should be 12-5.

So true. It should have been a sweep.

Yep Dude, it's absurd we just lost two. We're better than the Padres. Look how our pitchers handled them. This was simply a case of more errors and the bats going MIA.

Seriously I'm so sick of the low key, hey man lets just let these guys work it out... Mentality.

TL needs to start gettin on these guys a little. Goldy needs to sit. They were talking about this on the broadcast and they asked TL about Paul being the only guy left that hasn't sat a game and he acted all anxious about it and was like; Yeah he wont want to but I'll have to make the decision at some point and hopefully he'll be on..' blah blah, seriously. Goldy is playing like crap, if anyone else was having the kind of at bats he's having they'd get a game timeout, so let's not treat the guy with kid gloves, because I dont think he wants that.

Instead of constantly catering to what he wants to do, I'd like to see what would happen if TL sat Goldy a game, despite any protests, and told him; Dude if you dont like it; start hitting.

He also needs to get on the whole infields butt about their errors and general suck. I feel like this team is good enough to atleast be somewhat relevant in the fall. But at this point we are hurting ourselves. The two pitchers we lost to are not good. Barely average and we just got smoked. That's ridiculous.

Just put everyone on notice, start freaking producing or we'll start finding replacements. Because these guys look, and have looked pretty apathetic for a few seasons now.

He should! He's the damn coach and should be getting in the guys grill, but I bet that's not going to be happening.

Just because he is not grilling the players in the press does not mean it is not happening. He's been our coach for 12 games, jeez, give him a chance to do his job. It's a long season and we are off to a better start than anyone predicted.

Were not even being critical of him just saying what we'd like to see happen. But from TLs comments this far it doesn't seem to be his style.

I'm just saying we've been trying the relaxed and groovy method for a few years now and it's not working. I honestly want to see how Goldy would react to TL sitting him and getting chewed out. Mr. polite and quiet "Americas first basemen" needs to get pissed off.

You are falling into the typical trap most fans fall into... Insta-React. Baseball is, more than any other sport, a grueling marathon. TL started this thing months ago. He knows what he has and what he doesn't. 17 games into the regular season is a split second of time in this marathon.
We don't know what was said in camp... and what is being said behind closed doors and away from media mics. In the end, players have to play and produce. Come June/July, we'll know a lot more about this team and TL's approach to the ups and downs... But for now, sit back and grab a cold one Bert...

I love reading your posts Bert. I guess I am thinking of my management style (when I was working): Praise in public, criticize in private. My boss thought I was too easy on some of my employees but she never saw the other side of me in private. I'm not saying that is happening, just hoping it is, so your point is valid. BTW, this stuff spreads like wildfire so you just have to know where to start it. :)

Edit: Wait, they are sitting Peralta? Why?
Because they started a lefty. Ahmed starts at SS and Owings moves to RF. I hope putting Owings in RF is not the plan for the whole season.

IIRC, Peralta started once and sat once vs. lefties in the series.
