...and your point is? Of course I haven't seen every game, I can't watch baseball all the time. Anyways enough with the fighting, it's reason to celebrate.
Yep. It would be more complicated if there was a 3-way tie with the second place team in the East, but we don't have to worry about that now and to the best of my knowledge they don't have a one game playoff if both teams are in the post season.

I don't see a possible scenario where Arizona and SD can be tied where the wild card spot isn't available. Thus, the one-game playoff shouldn't be necessary if the two teams wind up tied.

If they tie for the division lead they would then need to "playoff" to determine who is the division champ and who is the wildcard, as one would be one and the other the other. Meaning of course both would still be in the playoffs.

yeah, i'm pretty sure this is wrong.
The Dbacks own the tirbreaker with the Padres, so a tie wins us the division.

A tiebreaker is only necessary if one of the two teams won't be making the post season. No tiebreaker is necessary for the D-Backs. There might be one for the Padres/Rockies though, but I doubt we'll need it.

This is why I think guys like Tony Gwynn were predicting the Dbacks to fade. I think more than anything he was just wishing it to be true because the prospect of such a young Dbacks team making noise scares the crap out of the rest of the division.
