Bummer... Willie leads game off with a double and with no outs, couldn't plate him. Man we so suck hitting with RISP... :bang:

Cahill craps the bed. Nice way to start the road trip.

14 hits tonight and somehow we were never really in the game... We blew with RISP once again...
And yea, Cahill continues to hurt us...

And again we lose out on an oppty to put some distance between us and the teams chasing us as the Rockies, Padres and Giants all lose again...

Also, I have a bad feeling about not having out away a struggling Dodger team when we had the chance. We allowed the Dodgers the chance to stick around on the race and with their talent, I have a hunch they will be a major thorn in our side in the second half of the season...

No surprise to see Didi back in the line-up with the righty Zimmerman on the mound for the Nats. Interesting to see Pollack getting the start over Ross... I agree with Gibby as Ross has been putrid and Pollack has been swinging a nice bat as of late.
They'll have the work cut out of them against Jordan Zimmerman, who has been close to lights-out through the first half of the season with a 2.25 ERA and 0.93 WHIP!

Ugh... We have now gone 18 consecutive games without a win by our starting pitcher! That includes a gem by Kennedy and two games where Corbin pitched into the 8th inning - and zippo to show for it... Minor miracle we are still in first place...

It's only because we're in a really crappy division..... :(

Off topic, minor gripe while I'm in a crotchety mood after another loss: my daughters playing in the Volleyball Festival at Phoenix Civic Plaza, I went downstairs to get a snack and they have several TV's in the cafe area. On 3 of them was the Yankees/Rangers game. Not one of them had the Dbacks game? C'mon Phoenix, back your team!

Dodgers are hitting their potential and have won 5 in a row. 2nd half sleeper team, IMO. The D-Backs need to stop lolly gagging and put together complete games. Too many players struggling at the same time for me to believe they'll stay in 1st for much longer.

Mentioned this in another thread... We had our shot at burrying the Dodgers and pushing them down and out... We missed that window and with a team as loaded as they are, I believe we will eventually pay the price later in the year. :(

With any other team, I would agree. But the Dodger's have a history of not living up to their potential. We shall see.

Corbin against Strasburg. I would really like to see Patrick get number 10 today.

What a matchup between Strasburg and Corbin. Both pitchers went seven innings, Stras with 113 and Corbin with 111. Both threw 76 strikes and both only gave up a 2 run home run.

Been nice if the offense would support their starting pitchers. Corbin remains 9-0.

BTW... another boneheaded call by an umpire. Parra was clearly safe at 2nd base.

Alright!! We're ahead in a division where the second place team has a losing record.... and we've got the worst w/l record of all division leaders.

I guess being king of a dung heap is better than not being king at all..... ;)
