Well here we go, bottom of the 9th. I know we have a huge lead, but Greg Aquino is pitching, and the last time he pitched he blew the big lead we had.

You could not go a whole game without something negative. It is a friggin 15 to 4 game for cryin out loud.

lol, that's me! I've seen us blow big leads before, sue me for remembering!

Now, anyways. I hate too sound arrogant, but we killed the Cubs tonight. Congrats D'Backs! we needed too massacre a team sometime.

Agree. Go to the ESPN board and talk all the negative stuff your heart desires. Phxchris reminds me of the poster on the old board named KJJK. That guy was so negative. I won't forget before the 9th inning started in game 7 of the 2001 World Series, he was going off and conceding victory to the Yankees.

Is it just me or are batters learning too hit off Webb? before the AS break he was a groundout machine, now batters are starting too get more base hits off him.
2 or 3 (real) earned runs in 7 innings is nothing to be ashamed about.

I expect Green to be sent down.

And what a great game today! This was a big win since San Diego and Cincinnati both have easy series coming up and we haven't blown anyone out for a while. I really enjoyed that.

Wait, you mean you can win games without having to sweat through the last 4 innings? I could get used to this. :)

Keep the hot bats going!

I just got my tickets. Should be one helluva matchup, not to mention may be the last time I get to see Clemens. Thanks for the info.

Not a good start, 4-0 Cubs after two.

Does anyone else think it might be time to give a minor leaguer a couple chances to take a rotation spot?

I wouldn't have a problem with that

I also wish we could teach some of our players to layoff the high fastball. They are making this Hill kid look like Cy Young by having horrible AB after horrible AB

Vargas being a fly-ball pitcher certainly wasn't going to work to his advantage today. Not giving an excuse, but I don't think today is really indicative of him. Every other piss poor start he's had, those we can look at.

Amazing, too, because last year he had that one stretch where he was just dominant.

Regardless of tonight, we will not make the playoffs with Vargas, Batista, and Cruz pitching how they have been and after all this time it does not seem like they're going to break out of their respective slumps.

I'm not sure who's on the farm, but it might be worth a shot as even if whatever rookie they promote does get lit up, it's not like that would be any different than what we have seen recently from Miggy, Claudio, and Cruz.

What's Easley doing hacking 3-0 in a 9-3 game?

Unbelievable.

I know that I have a problem with seeming too negative on our team(restrain yourself Banky, I wont linger around the subject), but I hope I wont be flamed for saying that Vargas pitched a terrible game tonight.

Congrats on the homerun for Byrnes though, here's hoping someone can get another homer in the top of the 9th.

Anyways, I'll try and get tickets to the game on Saturday, Webb Vs. Clemens should be awesome!

I 'third' the notion of bringing up a "Tucson" D-Back to take Cruz's next start. Tripple A pitching can't be worse than what Cruz does - and most likely is a major improvement. I still think Miggy and Vargus are going to be alright for us, just have had rocky outings now and again. Batista was cruising just recently.

This is a good show of In My Own Words with Gonzo. He's got a nice house! :-o

That was a pretty interesting highlight right before the commercial. Gonzo actually used to throw people out from the outfield! Wow and he threw it to Damien Easley, I didn't know they were former teammates.

Double header tomorrow due to the rainout, Cruz and Gonzalez still set to start for the Dbacks.

The Padres and Reds both lost tonight, D'Backs are now a half a game behind both teams.
