I wonder why Young did not pinch hit for Burke?

The Diamondbacks lose but on the bright side, they won the series.:)

Yup. That's what matters.

Every game we lose this year, Melvin will be to blame because he's an idiot. So stipulated. Just like D'Antoni for the Suns.

My bias is I think RJ is done.

Did you watch today's game? The reason I ask is because RJ looked very good through five innings. That error by Burke in the 6th turned the game around. He also was tired and should of been taken out.

If the Diamondbacks can get 5-6 solid innings from RJ this year, I'll take it. RJ is 44 years old and coming off major back surgery. He will get stronger but I don't think anyone can realistically think he will pitch 8 or more innings a game.

I would bet he let a ton of enherited runners score.

Four inherited runners scored on him last year and he never had any consistent outings to build on...it could've been a week that he wouldn't play and then Melvin would put him out there for 1/3 of an inning and he still had a 2.72 ERA and a 2/1 K/BB ratio. Bashing him this early is just silly.

My problem with bringing in Slaten was he had not pitched much and the Diamondbacks were only two runs down. I would of liked to see Pena brought in that situation. my bad for calling him a scrub. He has not pitched much this year, so you can't expect him to pitch like the other relievers. I'm was just surprised Melvin brought him in.

Series done. Bring on the Giants!

How long before Scherzer gets the call?
