Watchman wasn't totally unwatchable for me. It had some good actors in it. However, the entire movie had this "B" movie with a big budget vibe to it. It just didn't work. When two of the most talked about aspects of your movie are how rapey one of the "Hero" characters are and the other main thing talked about is a blue aliens dong.....it doesn't bode well for your movie.

Finally got around to seeing this... I liked the ominous score that was probably played too much throughout the movie.

Affleck as Wayne, OK. Affleck as Batman, yuck. Didn't like it in the trailers and didn't like it in the movie.

I seriously have a hard time sitting through more than about 15min of Eisenberg. He and Charlie Day are like like a sugared up kid bouncing off the walls.

Way to go Martha, you stopped Batman from killing Superman. Fookin Mama's boys! LOL

Didn't like Holly Hunters character.

But I'm not surprised as I didn't like Man of Steal after Superman and Lois arrived on Zod's ship. Guess I'm in the minority with Watchmen as I actually liked it and Sucker Punch. But, now that I think about it Watchmen, Sucker Punch and 300 are the only Snyder movies I like.

Snyder loves the slo-mo shot as much as Abrams loves the lens flare.

I am in the same minority. Watchmen was decent. I actually loved Jackie Earl Haley as Rorschach

This movie wasn't bad. It was long and you guys were right, the dream sequences were such a waste of time. Other then that, I didn't hate it. I liked it really.

Sucker Punch and Watchmen weren't bad either. :)

Sucker Punch suffers from the fact that it could have been fantastic with a more coherent storyline.

The whole idea of an insane asylum where someone is constantly in a dream world to cope with the horrors of it is a great concept.

Having it be a two layered dream world just made it confusing.

Finally got to see this today and I have to say, I love it. Although I think it tended to drag a bit. I loved seeing the other JLA members however, I'm a tad confused on The Flash:

Which Flash are they going with? The person they showed(Ezra Miller) looked like a teenager so are we going with Bart Allen?

Also, there was a lot of emotion in this movie. Yes, the whole Bruce and Clark's mothers are both named Martha was a little hokey and a bit Freudian but other than that, the ending had me a little misty eyed even though I know what's going to happen. Oh, and Jesse Eisenberg sucked as Lex. Lex is a man, not a boy. I would have much rather seen them bring back Michael Rosenberg for the part as he was excellent in Smallville. Anyhoo, the Justice League movie is looking a tad interesting, however, it's looking like they're going to dive right into Darkseid which is a HUUUUGGGGEEE mistake. They need to lead up to it like Marvel is going with Thanos.

You have to be a little impressed at the overall box office of this film but foreign box office is seriously inflating the actual success.

Domestic $320,917,244
Foreign $534,000,000

Anybody from our forums in the "industry" hearing any rumblings about future impact to the franchise?

What do you mean? Franchise, as in Superman franchise? Or as in Justice League franchise?

Justice League is happening no matter what, as is another standalone Batman. Haven't heard anything about continuing the Superman franchise, though.

I mean in terms of Zach Snyder basically steering the ship. It's too late for JL and I am happy Ben is getting his chance with the new Batman movie. I am just wondering if this film changes anything at all.

I'd hope they'll boot Snyder, but they'll probably wait until the first Justice League movie to officially do it. That's a huge movie for WB, and if it is successful, they'll keep him.

Is the JL the last movie he is under contract for? If so, I wonder if they can still scale back his influence on the other DC movies.

WB is evidently trying to listen. The word is the WB is disappointed that a film like Deadpool outperformed their tentpole movie. They are shaking up the entire film division and giving oversight to the executives in charge of handling their Television DC franchises. There will now also be a dedicated division for future DC films with dedicated teams. It will be co-headed by Jon Berg and Geoff Johns.

Not just DC properties either. They are giving Execs specific universes to oversee moving forward. Lego, MASK/GI Joe/etc

The R-rated version coming out on DVD sounds pretty good. Apparently it's darker (obvi) and there's some more hints into the future and Batman breaking into Lex Corp to steal the Kryponite.

watched the ultimate edition last night. the cover says 30 additional minutes but I only noticed a couple of extended scenes over the original. did not seem like 30 minutes were added.
They gave a better shot of Steppenwolf as he demonstrated the mother boxes he wanted.....apparently Steppenwolf is the villain for justice league while darkseid will come later. early word is that step comes to earth to claim three mother boxes....one in atlantis and one which is now cyborg....expect aquaman to have a significant role in JL
