I am listening to this and getting goose bumps! This guy knows what is to win. Listen and hear what he is saying about winning and losing. I am pumped, sign him now and I'll go through a wall for him, talking about how to be good .

He talked about why this job would be good:

1. Offensive line.
2. Runningbacks.
3. Talent not that far off.

I liked what I heard as well. I really liked his emphasis on "development" of players and coaches.

IMO that is what this franchise needs the most. I was a bit iffy on Green before, but now I think he might be the guy for us.

I want Dennis Green. He talked about all the successful coaches underneath him, and it really showed how good he is at finding good coordinators/assistants.

I'm still not sold. It's easy to talk a good game, but it's harder to follow through on it.

And was it just me, or did he take credit for Jamal Lewis running for 2000 yards?

No more of just hype. One heart , play hard, like each other, great clubhouse. Now we are talking winning and losing and how yo get it done. Why in the heck did they cut off the live feed to go to a college game? I want more!!!!!!!!

Wow, Krang. So easily seduced. I thought you were a Fassel guy. He said all the right things, but so did Colvin, Stewart, Holliday, etc. I think that he'll take a more high-profile job for less money over this one, and I think it'll be good for the Cards when (not if) he does.

Just listened also and am ready to go out and buy pads now to see what I can do to help even it is only for one play. Sign Dennis now I loved what he said. I thought only Mac could get us fired up like this.

Talk is cheap, remember that "winner in town" Buddy Ryan. Everyone was high on him when he came. We need a Parcells type with the strength to tell the Bidwills to stay the hell out of football operations. I am sorry and I know I will catch a lot of $h!t for this but I don't know if any coach can succeed under Bidwill ownership.

Well he did teach Billick all he knows, and Billick was coach when the Ravens drafted Lewis, and.....:p

I didn't think he would even consider us. If we can get him, he is clearly superior to Jim Fassel IMO. His numbers don't lie; he knows how to build successful football teams.

My only problem with him, has been his inability to find good defensive coaches once Dungy left. He also was terrible at finding good defenders in the draft....

No, he did not. He said we (and I emphasize we) instituted a system (West Coast Offense) that would allow RB's like Lewis to do well.

I know talk is cheap but he has talked the talk and walked the walk. History tells us he is more than talk and I urge the Cardinals to get this guy signed. He has the taste in his moiuth again. He is revitalised. HE wants the sidelines you can hear it in his voice. For most of us a new history is about to be done in Cardinal town. I can't wait for Flagstaff,

I'd be happy with Green...but I would rather have Fassel...either way I think either would be a good choice...

The comparisons to Buddy Ryan are ridiculous. Denny won with full control of operations in Minnesota. Buddy was successful until given full control.

The one knock on Denny Green, is that he hasn't won the big games in the playoffs. But I think he could if he gave up full control, or at least control of the defense...

Wacked Stats (yes this is just a bunch of BS to humor myself) -

Buddy Ryan with Phili -

43-35, won 55.1% of games

With AZ - 12-20, won 37.5% of games, drop of 17.6%

Green with Minnesota -

97-62, won 63.8% of games

Estimated results in AZ based on Ryans performance under the Bidwills - 49.8% wins

I guess that is better than any other coach has done in quite a while with the Cardinals!!!

OK, I'll jump on the Denny Green bandwagon!! I would like to see him with full control, however.

Before we all get excited about a guy who has had some success with great players in the past, let's remember what many on this board wanted and begged for when Mac's departure was imminent:

1. Someone adept at the X's and O's of the game
2. A disciplinarian who would sit players if they weren't giving 100% or were just not getting the job done.
3. Someone who has had success and experience as a head coach at the pro level.

To me, Denny achieves one out of three. He's never been viewed as a master tactician, and his clubhouses in Minny were a mess, and took some time to resolve. Neither Randy nor Cris were ever held accountable for their indescrections.

I will give you that Denny built some nice staffs and is a good talent evaluator (though everyone knew that Randy was going to be good; they just also knew that he was a head case). But that's what scouting departments are for. Please, please, don't get set on Green. He's going to go somewhere else, I'm almost certain, but beside that, he and his act are not what's needed here.

Something else that will play into this with our organization and that is MONEY. Dennis having been a successful head coach will want a lot more than some coordinators. Wonder if that would be the determining factor with Mr. B?

I really liked what I heard from him. I liked the fact that he talked about development and not just "we will get it done". He actually gave some examples of what he has done in the past what he believes works. He would be a guy that would take some of the misused talent that we have on this team and put it to use in the ways that it should be.

I think money will be the big issue with getting him here. Not only what they will pay him, but how much they will allow him to spend hiring a staff. I believe the Cards want him more than the others they have listed.

Before Dennis Green's name was thrown into the pool I was a Fassel guy.

As soon as Green's name was mentioned, I wanted him.

After listening to him, I WANT DENNIS GREEN!
