To me, Denny achieves one out of three. He's never been viewed as a master tactician, and his clubhouses in Minny were a mess, and took some time to resolve. Neither Randy nor Cris were ever held accountable for their indescrections.

I will give you that Denny built some nice staffs and is a good talent evaluator (though everyone knew that Randy was going to be good; they just also knew that he was a head case). But that's what scouting departments are for. Please, please, don't get set on Green. He's going to go somewhere else, I'm almost certain, but beside that, he and his act are not what's needed here.

But Dennis has been adept at finding great X's and O's coaches. It is more important for a coach to be able to find great tacticians, than to be one. A coach who is a great tactician, but brings in crappy assistants, won't cut it. Green has an excellent track record for finding great assistants.

Green not only found Moss (17 teams passed on him), but Carter blossomed under him. He also drafted Robert Smith, Michael Bennett, found Matt Birk, etc. He also temporarily resurrected the career of Randal Cunningham and Jeff George. Helped turn Brad Johnson into a very good Qb, as well as Daunte Culpepper.

The Vikings team of today, clearly was built mostly by Dennis Green. I would trade our team for their team in a heartbeat....

they were speculating yesterday on the radio it will take $3.5 - $4.0 million per year to sign dennis green...Thought I would throw that info out...not sure if it is accurate...FYI.

Hello everyone. Some of you know me from gameday chats and draft chats. I have been reduced to lurking for a long time now(all of my own making) but I'm now able to post. I have been a Cards fan for a loooong time now. My late Father and I used to go to Busch and watch 'em frequently way back when.

I hope Green is the answer and can finally turn the Cards into winners. I want him to succede and want to be optimistic. However I remember scratching my head at some of the questionable things he did in his term there, especially on draft day. Does anyone remember that 1st rd DE he drafted a few years ago that quit after a few weeks in training camp, then came back, and eventually tried to commit suicide? I forget his name. I remember when the pick was announced it was met w/ a lot of skepticism and wonderment. Mainly because of the other more highly regarded players he could have had instead, if memory serves. Last I heard of him the Cowboys signed him and he hasn't been heard of since. Anyway I hope he got all of that sort of stuff out of his system w/ the Vikes.

demetrius Underwood (not 100% sure of his first name). He was actually picked with their 2nd 1st round pick at #29 overall. I think culpepper was their earlier 1st round pick in the same draft.

green had his hits and misses..I heard a ton of them on the radio today..quite a few pro-bowlers - but a few bad picks.. I think Green thought he could fix anyone and he concluded that there was no way Underwood was that crazy...but he was way crazier than anyone imagined - and yes..I do think green may have learned his lesson on this one..
