This is truly epic, history-making stuff... Heard someone mention that the D-Backs are on pace to shatter the record of run differential in the 7th-thru 9th innings.
This team is entirely leaderless - try as Reynolds might... They are not even showing up. They can't find it within themselves, as individuals, to give a true, pure, professional effort. Base-running blunders... errors...and of course, the walks upon walks upon walks by the pen, leading to HUGE innings...It's a flat out disaster. Hinch is not a leader and I seriously question Stottlemeyer as well.
They need a complete flushing of the pipes. Young having the year he's having could be a true god-send in that he now could be much more attractive in a trade scenario. Trade his ass and get some relief pitching - ASAP!!!

Hinch is an idiot. He intentionally walks Ethier to load the bases to pitch to Manny. I think everyone knows Manny is one of the best hitters with the bases loaded, plus he owns Arizona. Of course Manny takes an 0-2 pitch and drives in all 3 runners with a double that just missed being a home run.

By the way, this was all brought on because the Diamondbacks don't have a lefty in the bullpen. Great job by the front office. How can a team in the majors not have a lefty in the bullpen but everyone in there is crap?

This team couldn't be any less interesting. Chase Field is already a ghost town, I can't imagine how bad it'll get as the year goes on. At least organizational advocacy is at an all time high!

OMFG this team sucks!!

Hinch and Stottlemyer need their walking papers. At least for the time being have Gibson finish the season. He has to be at least a slight upgrade at the managerial spot.

Ohh and in an interview on 12 news, Hinch denied any chemistry problems with the team. Dude, they all look like statues in the dugout. Get a frickin clue (after you are fired of course)

At least Young is good...and if the Dodgers don't make the playoffs then I won't lose my bet on this season... trying to look at the few positives.

The problem is our brilliant GM signed Hinch to four years. Who in the world hires a guy with no managerial experience whatsoever at any level to four years? Only the Diamondbacks.

Maybe if they played the rest of the year on the road, they might play better.

What value do Drew/Jackson have? Would love to trade one or both for a closer. I honestly think the bullpen issues would work themselves out with a reliable 9th inning guy. Qualls to the 8th (where he's best suited) and then everyone else falls in line.

Abreu can easily replace Drew in my opinion, and Jackson could easily be replaced by Parra. I see ZERO fire from either Drew or Jackson and think they are the most replaceable.

I don't know what Drew's contract is like, but I don't see anyway we could trade him away for a reliever, especially if it's to try and salvage this season. I'm a big believer in Drew I see him has a consistent .300 soon, smoking doubles, and playing solid SS for a long time.

Drew is in the last year of his deal making $3.4 mil. I'm assuming he's arbitration eligible at the end of the season. I just think that we could give him up and not lose too much offensively with Abreu. Plus the guy is such a dud that I don't think he brings too much on the leadership side.

I agree... AND, I would strongly endorse placing Chris Young into this conversation as well. And I think that needs to happen sooner vs later, before CY begins to come back to earth!! ;)

I have no idea why Hinch keeps putting Conor Jackson in the 2nd spot. Why can't we just stick with a Johnson/Drew/Upton/LaRoche/Reynolds/Young/Jackson/Snyder/P lineup

Because AJ thinks Connor Jackson is "a really good guy that can help us out"

Hinch is a JOKE of a manager, at the Major League level you DONT try and develop players. He cant get that through his head. He needs to go bye bye.

Drew is hitting .300 and is a decent fielder (although not as good as we expected.

But you are right. Stephen and CoJack are bland. They show no enthusiasm.

Just as Melvin didn't and Hinch doesn't.

There was a good article about Abreu in the Republic today. And how we need to make a place for him in the starting lineup at SS.

And how the trade talks involving Drew for a reliver are heating up again.

Hinch sucks bigtime. He takes Kennedy out and brings in Gutierrez who then gives up a 3-run homer to tie the game. Hinch is so freaking dumb when it comes to managing a team. Why the hell does he bring in Gutierrez again and again?

Qualls sucks. He blows another lead and the Diamondbacks lose 6-5. Josh Byrnes and AJ Hinch need to go now!

Hinch does need to go - if for no other reason than to simply clean house... entirely! I can't blame him too much as he is simply playing the players he's got. I mean, if not Heilman, Guiterrez, Qualls... then who?
Stottlemeyer should be booted before Hinch IMHO. But, truthfully, they all need to go!

I guess I am fortunate not to get too many D-Backs games on TV here in Memphis. Is that bullpen as awful on TV as they look in the boxscore?

11 runs on 13 hits... 3 more dingers and 13 MORE strikeouts... incredible. It's all or nothing with this team.
Young went hitless in a game when my grandma wouldn't gotten a hit. Hope it's not the beginning of the coming swoon...

And, we actually got a full inning of no-hit, no-walk pitching from our pen... Carlos Rosa! You ROCK!!!!!!!!!

:D
