Put a fork in them they're done.

This... This series and especially today were huge... Now 7 games back in the wildcard, 9 1/2 back of the Dodgers... Just too much ground to make up when you have guys like McCarthy and Cahill (he has looked a little better since his return from the DL) in the starting rotation, and Delgado sliding back to the levels that were expected of him. Add in a very inconsistent offense that continues to blow chunks with RISP, and yea... we are toast and the season is effectively over.

Lots of ups and downs this year. Some terrific games and lots of excitement. Goldy was simply MASSIVE all year long... Fun to watch.
Gonna need to address the outfield and somehow, somewhere find a consistent bat with some pop to put in right or left field.
Hoping Miggy comes back and returns to his more normal production.
Will also need to address the back end of the rotation. McCarthy needs to go - like now! I wouldn't mind if Cahill was no longer wearing a Dbacks uniform either. Delgado has done enough to warrant another shot next year. That gives us 3 starters (Corbin, Miley and Delgado).
And then there is the pen... Towers will certainly be a busy man this winter!!

Today was a really tough one to lose. As far as pitchers, here is what KT says about Bradley:

(08/14/13) Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers was very cautious Tuesday when talking about promoting starting pitcher prospect Archie Bradley, according to The Arizona Republic.
"It depends on where we're at and where our club is at," Towers said. "He doesn't have to be added to the (40-man) roster (this winter). There's no need to rush. If we think he's ready and we're in the thick of things, he could be a difference maker. I don't foresee us bringing him up if we're not in it."

Bradley, a 2011 first-round pick, has been churning through the minors and has progressed to Double-A. It seems the Diamondbacks are going to give the 21-year-old hurler a chance next spring to earn a spot in the team's rotation.

"He'll probably come to camp and try to win a spot," Towers said. "But it's going to be tough. There's going to be good competition."

If he can't beat out Hot Fudge or Honest Abe then he is definitely not ready.

Any chance at a Chris Sale trade this offseason? Then move Prado to outfield, and give Davidson a shot? I don't see any bats I would go after on the FA list. Hunter Pence, but he'd probably come at too high a cost for the type of player he is.

Towers is going to be a busy man dismantling and repairing a team this offseason that he essentially put together the last couple of offseasons per your post, yet this is also the same man who you think needs more time as the GM of our baseball club. It's like thinking GWB was the best man to fix the situation in Iraq.
