Now for the conspiracy theory. The NFL spin doctors scripted the whole incident for non fan attention.

Yeah the part of that article I missed when I read it is the rule on teams bringing their own footballs changed after 2006. From 07 on the Patriots fumbles per play stat is off the charts, significantly better than dome teams that tend to fumble less due to no weather issues.

I'm sure it's entirely coincidence and not that they happen to use under inflated balls that the RB's and WR's can hold onto easier.

Deflate-gate triggers stat spat as analysts attempt to solve why Patriots don't fumble

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/deflat...-why-patriots-don-t-fumble-003107565-nfl.html

Sharp’s idea was to look at fumbles. That led him to a more refined topic: how well the Patriots held onto the ball both before and after the 2006 season, which happened to be the year Brady and Peyton Manning pushed for a rule change which allowed each team to provide their own footballs for games.

Something significant changed from 2006 to 2007 that allowed them to retain the football,” Sharp said by phone Tuesday, “and that continues today.”

According to Sharp’s calculations, the Patriots’ fumble rate was 42 touches per fumble from 2000 through 2006. That was about the league average. Since 2007, however, that rate has dropped dramatically, to 74 touches per fumble. Over that time, the Pats are the best team in the NFL at holding onto the ball, even including dome teams.

“Based upon the data we’ve collected and the probabilities, it definitely is extremely unlikely that their ability to hold onto the football would change so much and be as far away from the rest of the NFL,” Sharp said. “It’s extremely unlikely.”

So here's a good one...

Turns out there is no recorded evidence to substantiate that the footballs were underinflated. The PSI levels were never logged by the officials.

http://boston.cbslocal.com/2015/01/...s-a-hit-as-blandino-reveals-psi-not-recorded/

Therefore, the assertion that the footballs were ever underinflated during the game is hearsay. The NFL head of officials said that the referee merely inflated them to within specs and moved on. Nothing recorded. 11 of 12 footballs and 2 PSI below are all speculation at this point, because there is no proof. This throws a wrench into the investigation.

Patriots Coach Bill Belichick Under Fire for Kissing Daughter at Super Bowl

Even in victory...the guy can't win.

The field at University of Phoenix stadium was a sea of hugs and kisses Sunday night after the New England Patriots pulled off an incredible victory over the Seattle Seahawks. But one of those kisses has created quite a stir.

In the photo, 62-year-old Patriots coach Bill Belichick is kissing his 30-year-old daughter Amanda. In the split-second smooch, caught on camera by Associated Press photographer Matt Slocum, the two are puckering up in a manner that seems almost passionate, and of course the Twitter response came fast and furious. “I hate the Seahawks even more for giving that game away because it prompted Belichick making out with his daughter,” wrote @matty_bandziel. “Take a guess. Is this Bill Belichick’s wife or daughter? (HINT: It’s his daughter, and he’s a creep),” wrote @mflynn32.

My 2 cents.

I think the Pats were involved in deflating the footballs, specifically because Tom Brady wants it done. I think they've been doing it regularly if not all the time since the rules were changed so around 07-08. So there were several years in there where they were doing it and did NOT win the SB.

I do think it's cheating, I do think Brady is lying when he said he had no involvement.

I think the guy caught taking the balls into the bathroom(on camera) is goign to say he had to take a pee, didn't want to leave the balls out there so he took them in too. I don't think that's the truth, but I think that's what he'll say.

I think Belichick knew but wasn't actively involved in it.

I think the reason 49er players(Haley, Rice etc) keep coming out about it is they want to remind people they won 5 without cheating. If they had a reason to gripe about Pittsburgh's 6 they would.

Yeah, if only that were true.

Fines and loss of draft picks.

Since it wasn't the Pats, no one seems to care.
