Seattle had 16 players on injured reserve this year. You're really casting about at ghosts.

Sportrac does an interesting summary of the cap hits of the players in IR as a kind of proxy for the value of the player

Seattles 17 players had a collective cap hit of $18 million - basically three starters ( Zach Miller, Mebane and Derrick Coleman a fullback) and then a bunch of young guys who weren't starters.

AZ's 7 on IR had a hit of $28 m ( with Palmer being a big piece of that)

All teams have injuries -- you just hope that it's not your QB, or to your best players, or not all in one position group

Not key players like the Cardinals had. They still had their #1 QB and RB and their defense was almost totally intact. No comparison.

BA won coach of the year for doing more with less. Frankly, I think it's harder to do more with more. It's really hard to stay on top. How many times has Belichick won coach of the year? Yet he's in the playoffs every year for over a decade and gone to, what, 6 freaking SBs now? Lol.

The jury's still out on Wilson? Really? He's a better QB than Palmer and young. Who is this jury? Wilson is one of the best QBs in the NFL. There's really no disputing that.

And Seattle is a very young team. They aren't going anywhere. Contracts may deplete some of it, but they're going to contend and frustrate us for years.

I don't even know why you're arguing. They're a better team, they're younger, they have a better QB who is also young, they're better in every phase. You can argue we have better coaching, but then you're just saying they have younger, better talent. I happen to think Carroll is a good coach. AND they have young talent.

The rivalry is one sided. We want to beat them because they're on top, but I don't think they sweat us at all.

Carroll might be a good coach, but he and his staff sure pulled a bone-headed play that cost the Seahawks the SB. Mark my words - this loss is going to weigh heavily on that team. They won't be the same team next year.

And I hope they do take the Cards lightly next year. It just gives us that much more of an advantage.

This would seem to be evidence in support of my point that the Seahawks probably weren't worried about the Cardinals either time they faced them. So. Thanks for proving my point.
