Is it better to buy a gigital camera that uses regular batteries or a lithium battery? Or does it not matter?

It's kind of 6 of one a half a dozen of the other.

It depends on your needs. There are nice cameras that use each type. Proprietary batteries save you money in the long run but are not as convenient as AA's.

The kind of battery a camera uses is about last on my list of priorities when buying a digital camera. Look first to the type of camera, features, etc and only if it is a dead heat amoung several cameras would it make a difference (I agree that prop. batteries save money in the long run).
