No he's not, but he's a consistent 'I'll bite your ass if you ignore me' WR , especially in the clutch who's a momentum swing... I can't wait to see depth nickle backs attempting late into the season cover him with the addition of Hopkins

No more more sure handed receiver than Fitz who can make a crucial play.

Absolutely! Give him a billion if he wants that (probably would be a good idea to do it around the cap). He really is a great player.

I suppose we have 2 options with Hopkins:

1) Sign him to extension this year with a decreased cap number in 2020 but higher in 2021 when/if Fitz retires
2) Wait until next year when/if Fitz's 11m comes off the books.

Paying both guys ~24m combined this year and ~20m just for Hopkins in future years.

I can't imagine Hopkins being happy about playing this year with no guaranteed money though.

This biggest part of the deal is that we cleared ALL of Dj's salary.

Hopkins for a 2nd and 4th is a worth while trade...but getting rid of DJ's salary was a hard task to accomplish.

Thats what pushes it over the top for me

This whole deal is mind boggling. Keep in mind that we also get a 4th from the Texans, so it's basically DHop for a 2nd round pick. Plus the salary dump. Larceny!

I would pay him $18M per year in a heart beat. I was thinking he would want to be paid more than Cooper but this seems a lot more reasonable.
