To everyone that isn't reading the other threads:

The Phoenix Suns get Atlanta's Pick next season no matter where it falls.

You serious? They are not that bad to start with, they had health issues, and now they're adding the #3 and #11 pick to their roster. In the east they're probably going to make the playoffs.

Adding two rookies certainly doesn't guarantee a playoff berth. They will be better, but let's see who they take before putting them in the postseason (of course, they do play in the weak Eastern conference).

Hate to break it to you, but the East isn't overly strong, and the Hawks already have some nice pieces. Lets assume they can get Brandon Wright and Mike Conely Jr (which is what a lot of mocks have at the #3 and #11 slots right now).

Atlantas starting 5 could be:

PG Mike Conely
SG Joe Johnson
SF Josh Smith
PF Marvin Williams
C/F Brandon Wright

On the bench:
SF Josh Childress
PF Shelden Williams
C Zaza Pachulia
G Salim Stoudamire

So they probably need some more outside shooting and a few other things, but thats certainly not a terrible roster, its just a young one. If they can package some of their unneeded PGs if they get Conely, perhaps they can get a good shooting guard to come off the bench.

HooverDam there is no way that the Hawks get Conley at #11.

If Portland takes Oden at #1 look for them to acquire a top 10 pick for Aldridge, Jack or Randolph and pick Conley.

no way they trade aldridge, they'll stick him next to oden and their frontline will be set for the next 10 years. randolph is as good as gone though.

Why not? Conely is slated around the 10th/11 pick on NBADraft.net, Draftexpress.com and Hoopshype.com. Depending on how badly Atlanta covets a point guard, they may even reach for him at three, or trade down to maybe 7-ish and take him. They could get Conley early, and then pick up a big like Hibbert, Spencer Hawes, or Joahkim Noah with their 11th slot.

I also don't see why Portland needs to move a bunch of pieces to get Conley, they have Jarrett Jack and Sergio Rodriguez.

I think its extremely ignorant to say there is "No way" that Atlanta gets Conley, its way too early to be saying that, especially when all draft prognosticators have Conley being available around 11.

And mockdrafts are only mockdrafts..

What was the last draft that had no PG going within in the first 10 picks?

Sacramento, Boston, Milwaukee, Memphis, Minnesota are all possible destinations for Conley.

More likely is Conley going to Atlanta at #3 now.

I'm betting the Hawks pick next year is between 15-20 and the Suns sell it for $3 million.

Yep that's been my prediction for a while, that Conley goes 3rd. You can never be sure but there were a lot of games this year where he was the best player on the floor, WITH oden on the same team. He's very good, Rod Strickland without all the drama, and he plays defense. Uncanny ability to get to the rim and finish at his size, I'm guessing it's all those years playing against Oden in practice.

Someone please refresh my memory. In the JJ trade to the Hawks the Suns received two conditional first round picks (plus Diaw). One is Atlanta's first round pick next year. And was the other the 21st pick in last year's draft that was traded for a first round pick in this year's draft via Cleveland?

I don't know if someone actually read the trade or not (haven't read the draft thread yet) but I was pretty sure that next year was #1 protected? then it was ours after that!

I was pretty sure it can be anywhere next year.

Agreed. It is my understanding there are absolutely no restrictions on Atlanta's pick next year although it doesn't look that good right now. I would much rather have had the 4th or 5th pick this year.

There are zero restrictions on the pick next year. However, there is no doubt it will be a "teens" pick. We really needed the pick this year to help us make some moves. Now I think the Suns are not only going to have to be more creative but might have to give up more to get what they want.
