Do you think Penny and/or Gugliotta will be traded this offseason?

He is only got what 3 years left? A team looking to get alittle better, to make a push might think about it, since they wouldnt have to give up much at all to get him...

What league are you watching? I understand supporting Penny Hardaway, but that is absolutely ridiculous!

3 years--sure, a nice number--but when you couple that with 12 million dollars per, it's not so nice anymore--especially for a player that doesn't earn even half of that.

Yeah, sure, another huge contract that last just as long for a player that isn't any good. Yeah, they wouldn't have to give anything up... Shyeah, what about matching the 12 million dollars WE'RE paying him this year?

Normally, Beerz, you're spot on, but I couldn't believe what I read there.

Well I'm glad you agree with most of my stuff...

But I dont think Penny "Isnt any good" I feel that statment is way off. He has shown to be atleast a solid veteran... Worth his contract hell no!

I think it would be very hard to trade him. But I also think Minnasoda is looking to improve to keep Garnett and "MIGHT" spend what it takes to make him happy.

Anyother player with a contract that could compair to Pennies would cost them ALOT more in players to get.

I dont think it will happen, all I was saying is that I think it would be the closest trade I have seen that HAS some sort of chance...

I dont expect a Penny trade but I wouldnt be to surprised if the suns were able to pull it off...

I can't think of any contract(or combination of contracts) which mathches Penny's which would be even remotely possible to trade him for which wouldn't hurt our team tremendously.

And yes, I just used the word "which" three times in one sentence.

Beerz, please re-read my post. I never said that Penny "isn't any good." I said that any player we receive for him in trade won't be any good.

The whole point is Penny's value with his contract. When it comes to him, that's what it boils down to--because he doesn't match that contract value.

To bad we can't get R Miller. He would fit great with this team. He is great at catch and shoot. Just what we need. Has anyone heard what the Pacers are doing with J O’Neal? I saw something that if they offer him the 12+ mill they will only have like 2 or 3 left to sign like for others including miller. Can we trade or do anything with that?

ohhh I did miss read that sorry...

All I know is the Suns have made alot solid trades before, and if they were able to unload LONGLEY they are creative enough to move Penny...

But I repeat, I dont expect it...

Brandon from the Wolves would be the only one I can see...

We NEED the cap space, and the Wolves are adding what ever thay can to make Garnett happy... Both of us are desperate, so if there is even a 2% chance, it is worth looking at...

There is one possible trade to get rid of Googs: Googs + 2nd rounder for Ostertag to Utah.

To my knowledge, Ostertag is also in his last year of contract making about 7mil. Utah with Malone gone is supposedly 20mil under cap and no prominent FA wants to go there besides Miller. Thus, they might be better served to save the cap or whatever is left after signing Miller for next year. Their main goal should be tanking the year for a best possble drafting pick while developing their young players. Since there is a min. salary requirement of about 30mil? They might have to add more salaries that run just one year. The proposed trade gives them 5 mil additional salary for one year.

With this 5 mil salary relief, the Suns might want to go for PJ Brown with the mid exception. The roster'd be:

Ostertag/JAKE/jake
Amare/PJ/Outlaw
Marion/Zarko
Penny/JJ/CJ
Marbury/Barby

If Jake, Amare, Marion, JJ, Penny all improve accordingly, we could even match well with the Lakers' Hall of Famers!
