You must not have any brothers.

I have 3. All older. I also have 5 cousins whom I consider to be my brothers.

I also work with plenty of families as well for a non-profit org. Try to get them on their feet, work through their problems, find homes, get food, get out of abusive situations, health care, teenage mothers and fathers, you name it.

Bickley has a little more info on the locker room fight..

Moments after a loss that ceded the NFC West crown to the surging Seahawks, the somber morgue of a locker room suddenly was pierced by linebacker Darryl Blackstock, who became incensed at teammate Darnell Dockett.

What prompted Blackstock's outburst was unclear, but he called Dockett a very bad word at a very high decibel level, telling the teammate that he didn't know who he was dealing with and threatened to mess him up.

As the teammates were restrained, one Cardinals player said to no one in particular, "That's exactly why we got our (backsides) whipped."

It was tough to tell who was more shocked about the in-fighting, the horde of media already in the room or the wide-eyed general manager standing off in the corner. To his credit, Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt immediately paid a visit to Dockett, and tempers calmed.

"Words were exchanged," Dockett said. "There's emotion when you lose a game you think you should win. . . . it's nothing."

Again, if this is true, I really, really hope DD was able to do some damage to Blackstock...
Whether people understand it or not, there is a pecking order on a team and in the locker room. And I can assure you that a player like Blackstock has zero authority to question someone like Dockett...

Of course, the reality is that this team has been so bad for so long, pecking orders, leadership and statements are all but meaningless at this point...
I guess it will be interesting to see what type of effect something like this will have on this team. Will there be any visible manisfestations, where we can say that, "ya know, this team changed (for better or worse) after that locker room fight in Seattle...".

Guess we'll see...

Just making an assumption from the article.. But typically when an authority figure (Whis) steps in after not seeing the start of things, he usually takes the person dominating the scuffle to the side first.. Just my thoughts..

Daryl Blackstock said to Dockett ?

"didn't know who he was dealing with"

Did we not learn anything from Sean Taylor ?

This is thuganomics 101.

Blackstock is pretty much saying, "Do you know who I am?" Pathetic. I bet Blackstock got called out on his horrendous play.

And to answer Daryl's question, I know who Blackstock is. A wasted 3rd round draft pick that has amounted to nothing. A no talent hack that only has a roster spot so our front office can save face.

I know the D.Dockett has to have a cooler head and has blame in this too. But this sure sounds like someone who didn't want to hear about how he screwed up, I can see Blackstock getting frustrated but the guy has to learn how to take criticism....especially one who sucks as badly as he does.

We still have absolutely no idea why they got into it. Dockett "calling out" Blackstock is a decent guess. But, that's all it is, a guess.

Also, for you who seem to think this was somehow a good thing, listen to one of the players themselves:

The comment from the "player" can be construed in a number of ways... One could guess that he was commenting on Blackstocks balls to take on Dockett, and that that sort of lack of respect and indignance is what ails this team... IMO, I find it hard to believe that "a player" would take issue with Dockett going after Blackstock, given Blackstocks' pathetic performances...

In that case, Dockett has grown a lot over the past season. Last year, Jurecki reported that when he asked guys what they thought about Dockett's extension, he got a lot of eye rolls. I'm not certain he's actually respected, if he was, guys would probably listen to him rather than try to fight him.

But, again, we just don't know why they got into it.

Comments like that from Jurecki mean absolutely nothing to me. Dockett has been a cornerstone of the defensive line (I know that really isn't saying much), since he joined the team. He has shown his heart and soul, and answers the bell more than any other defensive player we have...
I believe he is widely respected on this team. Is there a chance a few guys might not like him? Well, on a team of 50 or so crazy characters, I guess that can happen... Just like I'm certain there are guys who play or have played with Brady, Manning, Ray Lewis, Walter Payton, etc., who didn't like them...
Look, I am not about making Dockett into some choirboy role model... I think the guy has some issues... BUT, within the context of this particular team, he has earned the right to beat the crap out of a moron like Blackstock, if this story is true and Blackstock went at Dockett...

Players probably roll their eyes at a lot of Jurecki's questions.

Fighting "in-house" really depends on the circumstance and people involved there's no clear answer to whether it helps or hurts because every story is different, been in a couple, seen a couple from my service days and it rarely ended in the forging of spirits or mutual respect.
Mostly it ends in bruises and grudges.

Made a living for a decade playing hockey.

There were 15 fights, minimum in training camp... and probably the same number in practice over the course of the season. And there were no refs to break them up. I don't recall once being on a team divided by this, unless the fight was over a girlfriend or wife. :D

I once hit my brother over the head with a big jar of Pond's Cold Cream. He was none the worse after that. :)

i hit he-who-won't-post-middle-brother over the head with an aluminum bat. i think all evidence points to the fact that he is worse for wear since.

I threw one of those huge metal tonka dump trucks at my brother, hit him in the head for multiple stitches. Teaches him for hogging all the pillows in a pillow fight.

You guys are crazy. First off, we have no idea what happened.

Secondly, who here knows Blackstock and Dockett well enough to really speak up about their character (or lack thereof)?

Third, why is everyone on Dockett's side?

Fourth, why are you guys assuming that Dockett would win a fight between the two? He is one inch taller and 40lbs heavier. That is no big difference. In all honestly, it is the skinnier guy you have to watch out for. The arms are lighter and punches tend to be quicker.

Because Dockett is a physical beast on the field while blackstock dissapears under a linemans shoulderpads.

Blackstock has done NOTHING in the NFL, therefore he has no merit to speak up. If your not qualified, dont try to be a leader.

I assume Dockett would win for one reason, Dockett has a reputation as a guy who won't hesitate to take a cheapshot and often in a fight the guy who is willing to fight "dirtiest" is going to win.

Blackstock probably looks better in the gym.

I'm in the I'm glad they care enough to get mad camp.

1st: When has that EVER stopped us?

2nd: When has that EVER stopped us?

3rd: Because Dockett is a stud and Blackstock is a suck.

4th: Dockett is a caged beast that we allow to roam around freely on the grass, then put back in the cage during the week. Blackstock is weak sauce dripped on the raw meat we feed D-Dock after games, then starve him until Sundays.
