Because Dockett is a physical beast on the field while blackstock dissapears under a linemans shoulderpads.

Blackstock has done NOTHING in the NFL, therefore he has no merit to speak up. If your not qualified, dont try to be a leader.
Who said Blackstock was trying to be a leader?

1st: When has that EVER stopped us?

2nd: When has that EVER stopped us?

3rd: Because Dockett is a stud and Blackstock is a suck.

4th: Dockett is a caged beast that we allow to roam around freely on the grass, then put back in the cage during the week. Blackstock is weak sauce dripped on the raw meat we feed D-Dock after games, then starve him until Sundays.
you get 5 pts for the good analogy and another 5 for your overall honesty

Speaking up against someone isnt doing that? We dont know anything really, but it sounds as if Blackstock is attacking darnell about something.

And I think DD would stomp him.

Is that opinion even worth arguing?

From what I have heard, Dockett was the agressor, and Blackstock told him repeatedly to back off.

I also will be the guy who doesn't understand why everyone thinks Dockett would smash him.

With the current Vick news, this quote is fitting: "Its not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog"

How would LaVar know who was the aggressor?

in what way do you see more fight in blackstock than you do in dockett? Your quote pretty much says dockett would destroy him too.

Even if he was getting on dockett, who the hell is he? He has never done anything in the NFL, dont worry about what docketts doin.

why are you guys assuming that Dockett would win a fight between the two? He is one inch taller and 40lbs heavier. That is no big difference. In all honestly, it is the skinnier guy you have to watch out for. The arms are lighter and punches tend to be quicker.
Says the short, thin guy! :D

This entire thread is much ado about nothing... A couple of guy had some words and got angry and loud in the locker room. That's it.

No punches, no fight, nada.

My guess is that Blackstock and Dockett were over it before this thread even got started! Every person in the Cardinals organization, and every current or former professional team athlete that has been asked about it has basically said the same thing.

you mean except the candid Cardinals player who was quoted in the lockerroom as saying: "This is why we got our asses kicked."

I dont see more fight in either of them. Unless you have seen someone fight before, you never really know what to expect from them. I really dont care about the fight one way or the other. In fact I think it shows some passion. I would take fights in the locker room every day over penalties during the game. I dont want you to think I am condemning Dockett. I just dont understand why everyone is jumping down Blackstock's throat for starting something we have no idea who started and automatically assuming he would get smashed. If the bigger guy always won, there would be no fights.

Dockett is a dirty, leg twisting, helmet ripping off load. You are seriously saying you see equal fight in him as Blackstock, who we have NOT seen be very aggressive. We've got one thing to go on...how they appear on the field and Dockett is far more aggressive and wicked out there.

Of course, you never know how someone will fight. I remember in sixth grade some nerd kid was pushed into fighting a bigger dude...the crowd came around in a circle and was taunting him too. Bigger dude swung on him and he freaking went bruce lee on him. Some heckler in the circle even caught a stray foot. He flat out whooped the kid's ass...nobody knew that nerd who was a skinny pole would be all secret ninja, and nobody messed with him again. But that was only one time out of 100 when I saw the non-aggressive, meek guy rise up and destroy the bigger aggressor. Most of the time it's the other way around. Two aggressors, different story...but you don't get in the ring with an animal.

The difference is that we aren't talking about a beast and a skinny little nerd. We are talking about a beast and a NFL linebacker. While Blackstock may not look like the beast that Dockett does on the field, I seriously doubt he would have made it this far in football if he was a pansy. Dont forget that he tackles (or is supposed to tackle) 200+lb men running at full speed for a living.

For the umpteenth time, I am not saying that I see any fight in Blackstock, I am saying I dont know, which is why I wouldn't feel comfortable guarenteeing who would win.

The bold was a wise choice to add. :)

Iirc, that report came from Jurecki. I pretty much discount anything from him unless it's confirmed by another source. It's been proven in the past that Jurecki embellishes (and that's putting it politely).

No, it was directly quoted by Scott Bordow in column.

Here are Bordow's direct comments on the fracas:
December 9, 2007 - 7:57PM
It was an ugly conclusion to a bitterly cold day, and when the Cardinals retreated to the warmth of the locker room, their frustration exploded for all to see.

Linebacker Darryl Blackstock, yelling, “Do you know who you’re messing with? I’ll (expletive-deleted) you up,” had to be restrained from going after defensive end Darnell Dockett.

Blackstock’s eruption was so loud and so profane radio station KTAR (620 AM) cut short its locker room interview with coach Ken Whisenhunt after just one question.

The angry words will be forgotten quickly. What won’t be is the Cardinals’ performance in the biggest game of the season.
