Dockett Apologizes for Shower Fun

He sounds genuinely sorry, and that apology was NOT written for him to read out. That is pure Dockett speak right there, and I applaud his honesty. I am the kind of person that understands that it is a joke, and I get that it is all fun and games. But the rest of the nation may not, plus there are kids to consider that follow this game.

Yet, we all have to learn the hard way sometimes.

I hope other can forgive a young man for being a foolish and niave. Cause you are in the vast minority if you haven't done something foolish, and not fully thought out in your youth and learned a lesson about it in the end.

It seems genuine to me too and i think he has realised that it was a foolish thing to do at best. I do like the fact that he realises he's let his team down rather then his employers which sometimes seems to be the case when a player feels the need to apologise. I genuinely believe that Dockett feels he has done bad by the organisation and put them in a bad light which he didnt intend to and at the same time learned to curb his antics online otherwise it may well lead to a much tougher situation for himself.

I certainly have forgiven him.

seems sincere and its a step in the right direction however he needs to keep in mind that he is a representative face of a pro sports team and buy extension he also represents our fans

i was one of the ones calling for his head i admit it but it was only because he was an integral part of our defense a pro bowler and a man who can take over a game when he keeps his motor running

empathy is a big part of human emotion for example have you ever seen someone doing something exceptionally stupid that you felt embarrassed for them
even though they may think nothing of it?
that's kind of the way my emotions were running when it came to this dockett shower thing
anyway hopefully this just fades into oblivion
I still hope the team fined him or something at least the grand he made over this stupid stunt they could give it to a soup kitchen or something

even though i know he has done many things on twitter to help fans
i remember him doing a live drawing for gulf war vets where they got an all expense payed trip for the soldier and his family to fly to arizona and take in a game all on darnells dime',
thats what we need more of from you d.dock hopefully you have learned a lot from this and i look forward to watching you and the rest of the birdgang defend our back to back division titles

Vernon Davis, Darnell Dockett do battle on Twitter

Just when we thought Cardinals defensive tackle Darnell Dockett was out of the shower, he gets pulled back in.

Dockett apologized on Tuesday for taking a shower and posting video of it via Ustream, promising not to make "news or media like that again." And so we thought it was over.

Not quite.

49ers tight end Vernon Davis needled Dockett via Twitter, eventually claiming that "Dockette" will be taking one shower per day on Ustream "for the rest of this month!"

Dockett didn't like it. Per Robert Littal of BlackSportsOnline.com, Dockett posted the following response: "Its more than a rivalry its not about us versus them its me versus 'YOU' now. I promise u on everything I love I try and f*ck u up!!"

Dockett also suggested that his vow to take care of Davis will involve Dockett playing "by other rules 'my own rules' check my background."

He has since deleted the tweets. But Littal has the screen shot. So while Dockett's words of wisdom on this specific topic may not be destined for the U.S. Library of Congress, Littal website will preserve them for posterity.

This is exactly why it was a bad idea for Dockett to do this, and I knew it was going to snowball in the media... Dockett should not respond to any of this for it will keep it alive in the media for much, much longer.

Hey guys, it is May 23rd. If this is still happening in a month than we may say DD needs to focus on the team. I like this intensity. Like DD said, he and Davis are friends. No need for all of the conjecture. It has not spiraled yet.

The CARDS need to hate the niners. We got laid out twice last year. I think it is healthy for them to make this personal.

Jim Rome is a clown to the fullest extent and a total joke. I don't know what's more obnoxious, his pathetically knowledge-barren commentary or that grown unkempt goatee that he keeps to try and look edgy or something. Trim your lip!!!!!
