Read Pete Carrol's post-game comments - he said that Dockett single-handedly was a disruptive force that threw Wilson off kilter all afternoon.

Yeah during Pete's press conference he kept bringing up Dockett's name. Said he was really good in this game and how he was hard to handle. I thought Pete was going to cry at one point. :D

I mentioned this in another thread but it is more relevant for this one. The sack that DD let slip away was one that actually left me impressed with him. As the squirmy squiggly Wilson starts to get away DD starts to reach for whatever he could get ahold of. If DD continues he would have gotten a horse collar penalty so he tries to grab Wilson elsewhere and misses.

How many stupid penalties has DD earned. This was a huge step in his maturity level IMWO.

I posted in yet another thread that DD needed to finish plays better. He had a couple of missed tackles, but I thought DD played very well.

Sorry Shane but maybe you are a bit off on this one.

Shane...look at the tape at :25 left in the game. What is DDock doing?

It isn't on the stat sheet. But he was doing things like that all night. The play that makes THE PLAY.

Sorry, I love you, but you are wrong. Womp womp.

@Cardschatter: Nine-0 was a beast RT @PFF_Neil: Incredible. Most productive pass rusher Wk 1 was a 3-4 end. @ddockett had 3 hits & 7 hurries in 38 rushes.

The praise for Dockett just keeps coming: http://blog.azcardinals.com/2012/09/13/docketts-excellent-start/

Probably time for Shane to consume humble pie...

Dock on our QB's:

“My biggest thing is, just don’t lose it for us,” Dockett said. “That’s my only emphasis. I’m not asking you to go out there and be 16-for-19 for 300 yards. I’m just asking you to go out there and, if you’re scrambling, don’t try to throw it between two people. Slide or throw it away, and we’ll punt and get after it on the series. That’s all I’m asking for.”

Nah. thats OK I'll stick to my guns. Like I said DD wreaked some havoc in the game. But considering he was lining up against a college level DT all game and not a true NFL caliber OG Im not all that impressed. He better perform like that against that kind of talent. His two missed plays that were key stick out to me more.

You guys wanna praise him heavily for dominating a guy of that caliber more power to you. Lets see how much havoc he brings on this week??

How were they "key"? Seattle only scored one TD, and on every other drive they were given incredible field position by either Ryan Williams or the kick return unit.

You're so deep into this that you don't even know how to get out. Just admit you were wrong and everyone can move on. "Disappointing" based on two plays in a dominant game? C'mon, Shane.

Like I said if you want to be impressed for his performance against that guy more power to you! Even though its an argument you use to downgrade performances all the time. Nothing new arguing out of both sides of your mouth.

If Dockett only dominated weaker offensive linemen you might have a leg to stand on. Then he'd be like all the guys that are pre season heroes but can't cut it once the real games start. Like Richard Bartel for instance. But DDs had success against much better players in his career. #90 destroyed that guy and in doing so disrupted Seattle's entire offense. I'm betting he does the same thing to Daniel Connolly who isn't exactly one of the best RGs in the NFL.

Oh well, there were fans who were criticizing some of Texas' plays in the Big 12 Championship game when they beat Colorado....... 70-3.

Dockett was severely disappointing today. he certainly cant be qualified as a beast...

I just rewatched the entire game. He blew a sure sack when he had a full wrap up of Wilson. He blew another important tackle of Lynch. I get that those guys are elusive and tough to bring down. but when you are DD with multiple PB's, that salary and reputation?? you gotta make the play! He gets a thumbs down from me today!

Shane, you might have missed that DD, CC, and DW combined to keep our linebackers free to get to the ball in this game. They did well enough to control Seattle's offense, and that is what Horton wants of them. All three of them are reluctant to throw a QB to the turf when they latch onto them because of the fines previously levied. DD has paid more than a few.
