Dude Peralta.... The ump doesn't even matter pretend he's not there. If David or Allen are at bat with runners on, it's a guaranteed OUT right now.

Those guys are both in a funk that I've never seen either of them be in. I dont think it can be overstated. They have been HORRENDOUS with guys on base the past 40 days.

I would give Peralta a day off and Bury Allen like 7th in the order for the game tomorrow, because this team needs a freakin wake up call.

Ridiculous. Pissed away a game last night, TL makes a dumb move to PH for Bandy in the 4th, and then craps out.

Since the All star break:

Peralta: 2 HR, 9 RBI, 15 SO
Pollack: 2 HR, 7 RBI, 12 SO

Also, between the two of them in that span, they had 93,768 Ground outs to short stop...


Their 4 HR and 16RBI are still less than Goldy's individual performance (who has also been "slumping" since the break:

Allen and David: 4 HR 16 RBI
Goldschmidt: 6 HR 23 RBI


Listen if you're not getting my drift here, it's that the David Allen show needs to start the music, otherwise it's going to be a short set.

No you're right and nobody should lose sight of the fact that we did what every other team for 2+ months has done, lose the series to the Dodgers. What's troubling are the trends we see and how we carry things over from game to game and series to series.

Man, that backfired. This slump has spread to Louvello, who can do nothing right at the moment either.

I don't think he has all year. He road a over performing team that cover his bad calls.

I still like our team. It's still a big up tic. We still should make the playoffs and get better next year.

I just hate to end it like that. The past few games against LA, even tho we lost 5 of 6 we felt very competitive in almost all of them. It didn't feel like the Dodgers were just miles ahead of us most of the time.


Tonight we looked like a AAA baseball team, top to bottom.

We still should make the playoffs and get better next year.

Neither of those two statements are a shoe-in unfortunately...
I think the Cardinals have a very solid chance of pushing us out of the final Wild Car slot... and hell, the Pirates have a chance as well now!
As for next year, we have several big time contract decisions to make. IMHO, while it's fun to speculate that guys like Lamb, Peralta and Ray will continue to get better, I'm not so sure... I don't see JD on this team next year (thank you Tomas). Our bullpen will need to be seriously improved.
I like Marte at SS, but second base could be a problem... and I honestly have no idea about CF.
Have we just gotten the best we will ever see again from Greinke?
