Guys giving up three runs is not pitching very well. Especially when your team gets you the lead and you choke it away. This is not the first time he has done this. I forget, but this happened recently in another big game where Lovulo left him and he blew the game.

I like Greinke and he is good but he is not that knock out stud that this team is missing. He's being paid as a knock out stud and he's not performing at the rate in my opinion. In all of these big games that he pitches it seems he gives up an early run. When our ace is on the mound we cannot loose a game like this. Unfortunately this is the reason the snakes will have a hard time making the playoffs and an even more difficult time doing anything in the playoffs. I'm a die hard fan and hate to say it, but i just don't think we have it.

Who besides Scherzer and Kershaw are pitching better in the NL than Greinke?

Literally was his first loss at home this season, against the best team in baseball (perhaps one of the best teams we've ever seen), against a guy who is 14-1. He have up 4 hits and our offensive juggernaut of a team gave him a whopping 2 runs of support while leaving another 11 runners on base... But ZG haters call those "excuses" because being paid a lot means you are never allowed to give up any runs...

When he pitches well we hear nothing, when he loses everyone is all over him. Everyone acts like Randy never lost. Pretty much everyone in baseball agrees this guy is one of the best, except for Dbacks fans. lol

We're still playing super exciting, meaningful games in mid-August, fighting for a playoff spot and still surpassing all expectations for this team going into the season.

So before we start the 'fire TL and trade ZG' threads, consider that. The Dodgers don't lose, and we've played them tough this past month, even as poorly as we've been playing. Sometimes it's good to take a step back and look at the big picture. Everything that's happening right now is a pleasant surprise.

Beyond pathetic... With the possible exception of Goldy (and an argument can be made for Lamb, though not by me so much...), the entire lineup has failed at the plate post All-Star break. As for Lamb, he is hitting right at .200 since the break, yet, somehow he has an OPS of roughly .890... I would think that if he continues to hit at the Mendoza line, his OPS will begin to suffer as well.

Hall was on Doug & Wolf this morning and said the all systems are GO with Ray... He is still in the concussion protocol, but has been running & pitching with no ill effects. They want to be careful though... as, we rushed Archie back and he crumbled... don't want to do the same with Ray.

Went to the game yesterday. Dbacks really struggle against lefties it seems. They had some opportunities again. Can't blame Grenke for this one. Hitters need to step it up and create better opportunities for beginning of the order. Outside of the Chicago game Goldschmidt hasn't hit particularly well in the 2nd half with RISP. I think he needs to be back in the 3 hole. Pollock, Paralta, Goldschmidt, Lamb/Martinez.
