Saw this one another board and which picks we could end up having in the draft

As I see it right now, the Suns are going to need to select a PG and a big man in this draft, although not necessarily in that order. Also the Suns seem enamored by tall SG's that can play PG.

Mustafa Shakur? Are you serious? I know I'm an ASU fan but he has no place on the PHX Suns. The guy is one of the worst shootong PG I've seen in a long time, may have a worse shot then Jason Braxton did.

Mustafa Shakur has been a huge disappointment. Jason Gardner will end up having had a far better career.

Speaking of UofA players, I've seen 3 or 4 Wildcats games this year and Marcus Williams does not seem like a late lottery guy to me. He seems more like late 1st round at best. Chase Budinger on the other hand is awesome.

Budinger can no doubt fill it up but he needs to improve BIG TIME defensively before he's a lottery pick. Just my opinion, I know many will disagree

If we were to have these picks at the end of the year this would be my draft:

#5 - Tyler Hansborough (sp??)
#21 - Nick Fazeckas
#29 - Marcus Williams
#59 - Chris Lofton

Frontcourt help with Hansborough & Fazeckas ( who can also shoot), outside side w/ Marcus and an all around PG in Chris Lofton from Tennessee.

A recent espn chat by David Thorpe had him saying that the Suns were interested in FSU's Al Thornton, possibly as a cheap Marion replacement-- not to be confused with Florida's Al Horford.

Is that really possible? The Suns would tell ESPN who they would like to draft 8 months from now? I find it hard to believe they would share that information with anyone at anytime, unless it was "misinformation" 2 days before the draft. And I find it hard to believe that they would make it public that they are going to draft Marion's "replacement?"

Hmmmmmmmm.

Tyler Hansborough at #5, I almost threw up.

That's like drafting Mark Madsen at #5.

Marcus Williams will be a top 15 pick for sure.

That's your usual exaggeration.

Hansbrough is a very skilled bigman who always works hard. He reminds me of Nick Collison and I don't see why Hansbrough couldn't be a solid mid 1st rounder or even a late lottery pick.

I really like Al Thornton. He is long, athletic, a fierce rebounder, a solid mid-range jumpshooter, has good basketball IQ and some post-up moves.

He has to improve his outside J and ball-handling skills but I wouldn't mind him picked up with CLE's pick.

It wouldn't surprise me if it came up in conversation last year around the draft. I know that the Suns talked to Thorpe last summer because he was working out some guys that they were interested in.

Obviously you've not watched any UofA basketball games this year--he's playing himself out of the first round. He has been nothing short of underwhelming. I hope he picks it up, but he won't be top 15, not at this rate.

Geez out of the first round.. you must be kidding.. The draft is all about potential and Marcus Williams has way too much to not be a lottery pick.

He's played horrible this year, it's been well documented. Lute has even called him out in the papers. I'm sure he'll return to his usual form but if he continues this type of play, talent or not, he won't be a lottery pick

So here's the question. Do you want Atlanta to be in the top 3 this year or not?
I want Atlanta to begin picking it up. I'd rather have a 6-12 pick this year than an unprotected pick next year. Atlanta seems to be on the verge of something, and the Eastern Conference is weak. If they get a good player out of this draft, that pick could easily fall into the mid-teens or farther next year.

I think best case scenario is the #4 this year. I could see them pulling a Chicago next year and sticking us with a pick in the twenties. I want 4-8 this year.
