Loston is the safety I want and would be perfectly fine with the Cards drafting him in round 2, LSU knows secondary
My sleeper in the second round is Marcus Smith (OLB/DE) Louisville. More stout than Dee Ford and (IMO) just as good a pass rusher.

Marcus Smith is compared a lot to/like Matt Shaughnessey. He wouldn't see the field for a year, mtl.
Give me a RT, SS or TE there.

Explain to me the difference between a Larry Fitzgerald TD and a Juron Brown TD
I think Bryan McCann will make the roster. Whitley, because of his speed and versatility, has a chance.
I think one of those tall CBs---McGill, SJB or Desir---could make a good deal of sense in round 3. Like you said, they could be used to cover TEs.
Rashad Johnson is, imo, better than he gets credit for. So, we'll see. He seems to get a little stronger and a little more sudden each year.
I could see SK trading down and taking Bucannon---but, it's hard to say because SK is going to draft BPA, not for need.
Guess, for once, I predicted a Cardinals' draft trade.
When I watched the tapes of Pryor, Clinton-Dix and Bucannon, what became plain to me was that Pryor was a little small for the box and covering TEs, is a big hitter, but as i said before he's like A-Dub he hits and at times does not wrap up. Clinton-Dix is a deep FS safety who has length but he's not very tough (so that didn't seem to fit the Cardinals' need) and Bucannon seemed to have everything the Cardinals were looking for---size, speed (4.48), toughness (best tackling safety in the draft) and, best of all, the ability to cover TEs.
It sure felt good for the past three weeks to, to be watching Path to The Draft every night and seeing Curtis Conway claim night after night that Deone Bucannon is the best safety in the draft.
I think that because Bucannon played at Washington St. and not Louisville or Alabama that many of the pundits were reluctant to rank him above the other two. But when you watch the tape, Bucannon is a special talent...and while Pryor and Clintion -Dix are very good talents, for what the Cardinals need, Bucannon is the best talent.
Plus, Keim brokered an extra third round pick. Yes!
Starters:
This draft is deep at CB. Not as much at SS, particularly if you want a SS who can cover TEs. Deone Bucannon looks like the best fit (size, speed and cover-wise)---but will he be available at #52?

Mitch, congrats. I like the pick but a part of me was hoping we'd take Johnny M. for the excitement, if nothing else. Thought we'd end up with Bucannon, but in the second round.
So on board. Nice Call.
Well done Mitch calling the trade down and the pick. I think Seattle has driven up the value of physical secondary guys. Way cheaper to draft one and ride the value contract for four+ years.
Really nice call Mitch-----
I think we are going to love Bucannon, AF. Adding Cro and now Deone...our secondary just got impressively big!
Plus, AF, we are going to get a real good player at #91 (from the Saints).
Very nice Mitch!
