Gawd. All you guys talked it up like it was a given we'd have the 4th or 5th pick. So much for that.

The North West will have two pretty good teams soon.

George - I now HOPE TO GOD that I am wrong about Hibbet going above Horford. If the Hawks take that stiff, we'll be in good position to be really disappointed come next year's draft lottery! YAHHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

*Warning Conspiracy Theory Follows"

What better way to discourage tanking than to arrange for 2 teams at the bottom of the lotto to get the only 2 sure stars in the draft?

The likelihood of Seattle and Portland finishing 1-2, in either order, was about 1 in 80 (ballpark). Someone has to win.

Man I counted 10 PG's in next years draft for the first round....thats 1/3 of all first rounders! So no matter where the Hawks end up I see us getting a solid backup for Nash.

Is that true? In that case, if Conley is gone by #11, Atl might want to trade that pick with something to us to get their 08 pick back. We'd still get some major talent there.

I think at this point everyone is thinking Atl will take Conley at #3 because they don't want to possibly miss out. Then with 11 they can take a center like Hawes or Hibbert. I also think they need more outside shooting, but they've taken so many tweeners recently, they'll probably try to grab a 'true' center.

With the #24 pick in the draft we need to select Josh McRoberts.

I really hope hes still on the board.

Outside of maybe the top 8-10 players in this draft, i think McRoberts has the most potential out of the remaining players likely to be picked after the top 10.Will he live up to that potential is the question, cause the skill set and athleticism is surely there but both are way ahead of his head right now.(And i dont get it considering hes been schooled by one of the greatest coaches in college history)

My fear though is that he shoots back up draft boards after workouts and gets selected in the top 15 like he was projected if he came out last year.

Nbadraft.net's profile of McRoberts makes him sound like Gugliotta. I'd take someone like that on this team....

I have to go change my avatar. I am now hoping Tiago Splitter drops to us....

McBob is a great athlete who has no killer instinct.

I want the Suns to trade Marion to CHA for Wallace (s&t) and Felton. I know they have Morrison, but they could run Marion-Morrison like they do with Wallace-Morrison....

Then they can try to package #24 and #29 with Banks for a mid-teens pick to get Splitter....

Get someone like Sean Williams (back up 4/5), Herbert Hill (back up 5) or Avis Wyatt (back up 3/4) if they are still available with our 2nd....

Nash-Felton
Bell-Barbosa
Wallace-Jones-Wyatt
Stoudemire-Diaw
Splitter-Thomas

I think I could feel good about that....

Hes a Boris Diaw/Joe Johnson type.

He plays with fire when things are going his way, but loses all confidence when things arent. (And it shows on the court cause you can really see him getting down on himself on TV)

He does show a nasty side to his game though and that tells me he might develope that mindet down the road like JJ did that you dont need to go into a shell just cause you have a bad game.

Why would Charlotte even consider trading Felton?

The 2 Georgia Tech guys would be good fits.

Javaris Crittenton a 6'5 PG compared to Steve Francis should fit as well as anyone next to Leandro Barbosa. A big PG.

Thaddeus Young could take James Jones role, he also has enough potential to be our SF of the future.

Because they will lose Wallace for nothing and getting a 4-time all star for Felton is a great deal considering they draft #8 and could get Conley or another top PG....

If we could pulloff that caper then im all for it, but i doubt Charlotte can't get more if they packaged Felton and Wallace together.

And i'd rather move Marion for a big to play along side Amare.

Sean Williams

The Suns should absolutely draft Sean Williams if he is still available at 24. He is the best shot blocker I have ever seen and you should not be surprised if he is among the NBA leaders in blocks if he is able to play 30+ minutes a night. As far as blocking ability, he is a more explosive and taller version of AK-47.

A couple of his most memorable games were BC vs. NC State in 2005-2006 when he blocked game winning shots at the end of regulation and the first OT--8 blocks total. The block at the end of regulation was an all-time amazing play, where Williams came from under the basket to block an NC State three pointer at a seemingly impossible point after its release. That was back in his days a brick layer. He vastly improved his shooting and offensive skills in the summer before last season.

Recap: http://scores.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=260560152

Williams had 12 and 13 block games in 2006-2007, but his best performance probably came against Kansas, even though BC lost (to a much better Kansas team). 19 points, 15 rebounds, 7 blocks, and 3 steals on 7-12 shooting.

Both guys are promising talents, but IMO are years away from seriously contributing in the NBA.

Not to mention that they probably won't be available at #24.

Sean Williams got kicked out of Boston College for too much pot smoking so I doubt we would even look at him although his talents are a perfect fit..

yeah and we've already seen Sean Williams years ago when he was named Jelani McCoy, and he got kicked out of UCLA for smoking too much pot then.

Maybe when JC and BC ran the team, but no one really knows where Sarver stands on that kind of thing.
