Find it hard to believe that he's asking for these big markets given his meek personality.
Not happening, but they might get Olynyk.
Sci Fi, it's not like the fans are making these decisions.
I went back and read a huge thread about the Suns problems with the offense/3 guard thing from early in the season and the takes from most were pretty solid. There was quite a high degree of angst among many about the direction of the team. I remember you had a lot of reasonable stuff there as well as BC867, SF88 and others.
I'd be all over a Dragic + Plumlee for Sullinger deal.
You say there is a chance he turns into a top 5 PG. I say he basically already did that. Hell, last year for a reasonable amount of time, he not only was that but he was a top 5 player in the entire league. Periods like this just don't happen very often and peak levels of performance are a reasonable guide for judging potential.
Wait, I thought you said we were all clueless morons. It almost looks as though you came to that judgment months ago without carefully reading what other people were posting. But that can't be the explanation, can it?

If he agrees with you, you're reasonable. If not, you're a clueless moron.
No operation succeeds with rampant favoritism.Supposedly some of it has to do with his brother. Which IMO is pretty ridiculous. It was a favor to sign him in the first place. His brother supposedly refused a D-League assignment, which Goran took as a slight, no PT for his brother, Goran took as a slight.
he's a top 5 PG? Chris Paul, John Wall, Westbrook, Curry, Lillard... are all VASTLY superior to Dragic as players AND PGs. After that, there's a HUGE drop-off with the next bunch, which Dragic is in... but there's a GULF of difference between 6-10 and 1-5.
And at NO point last season was Dragic a top 5 player OVERALL. At no point in the season was he in the world of LeBron, Durant, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Lamarcus Aldridge, James Harden. He had two GREAT months... in which he played very well... and the team did not.
You say "periods like that just don't happen very often and peak levels of performance are a reasonable guide for judging potential." But here's the issue with that... Dragic has NEVER had a period like that EVER BEFORE OR AFTER, so there's no possible way that you can say it's reasonable for judging his potential. As of right now, those two months... are the EXCEPTION to the rule, not the thing that proves it.
Dude's a very good player... could be a great, GREAT third star on a title contender, but he's not a 1 or a 1a or a 2... and he's going to be paid that way.
I don't like the way we handled any of this, but I also think people here overrate Dragic to a ridiculous degree.
if there's ANY truth to the rumor that part of this is because of Zoran, then Goran's an idiot. Did ANY other team even sniff his brother's jock? This team made him a freaking MILLIONAIRE... apparently for no reason other then to make Goran happy.

I don't think I overrate him but I do rate him highly. Not that it's much gauge but in support of Sci Fi, Dragic did get MVP votes and was rated the 5th best player in the NBA by three different people:

And neither were you. Now go call me a creep or one of the other many things you call me. You'll feel better.
Creeps love approval from a crowd.
Thanks, Stefan. Not only that but the Suns turned the Point position (the quarterback) into a shoot-first position and moved Goran, as has been pointed out, to Shooting Guard waiting in the corner for the ball, then totally out of position at Small Forward.Top 5 player is a ridiculous thing to say. I agree with the rest of your post, but I have to take an issue with the last sentence. Nobody credible here overrates Dragic. I don't think guys like Eric, BC, and I are under some illusion that Dragic is the top 5 player or that he could be the first option on a legitimate contender.
What we've been saying all along is that he and Bledsoe are simply not a good fit, and that Bledsoe (and later, IT) make Goran worse, not better. Some may argue that Dragic is a better player than Bledsoe, but that's a far cry from overrating Dragic as a star of some sort.

He appreciated when the Suns re-signed him to run the offense after Nash was gone.I see no reason to believe he'd show appreciation for signing his brother when he clearly doesn't appreciate anything else they've done.

What he didn't appreciate was being bumped, not once but twice.
Would you?
Which is why I oppose the BPA principle. It totally disrupts team balance and causes problems for the rest of the team. (Emphasis on the word "team".)
Save your breath. You're talking to people who "know" everything. Here's what they've known since I've been here.
Pau Gasol was washed up.
Archie Goodwin will be a star.
The 2013-2014 Suns will win 20 games.
The 2014-2015 will win over 50 games.
Alex Len is awful. They need to get something better at center. He was a wasted pick.
The Morris twins are worthless.
Goran Dragic isn't worth ****.
Do you notice a pattern?

Yeah, no one liked Kevin Johnson. Or Elliot Perry.. or Shawn Marion.. or Mark West. Or Barkley. Or Gar Heard. You cannot have killed Bledsoe over the summer and not kill Dragic now when arguably Bledsoe handled contract negations MORE professionally. The difference is that Dragic is white and Bledsoe is black and this town LOVES a white basketball player.
