Often not for want of trying. Remember that game where we won like 14-6 because the defense scored us 14 point and stopped the Lions when he threw two awful pics in our own end of the field?
That's because, other than a couple starts, Stanton doesn't make a key mistake or turn the ball over. You want to pin the losses as being his fault but give credit to everyone but him for a win.

He's a backup for a reason. He knows his role and isn't, at least not likely, going to cost the team a win by making mistakes. Is he going to go out and win games on his own? No, because if he had that ability, he'd be a starter in the league for somebody.

Guinness says Stanton holds the record for the longest treading water time.

Without that phenomenal defense, he doesn't win those games. if throwing picks in your own territory is not costing the team by making mistakes, I don't know what is. Just because the epic defense bailed him out doesn't absolve him of culpability.

Like you said, he's a backup for a reason. When you quote his win rate and attribute it to him, though...that just doesn't jibe.

He is not the future of the franchise. The only thing he has going for him is more mobility than CP3, so he's not sacked as much.

I got tired of watching him throw low and away fastballs behind the receiver, ahead of the receiver, to the receiver's feet, etc.

Win-loss record is a poor measure of individual performance.
What it means is Stanton is not going in there and causing the Cards to lose. Which is what you want out of your backup. People want him to go in there and throw for 350+ and 4 TD's. That's not happening. What we saw today, about 50% completion rate, a couple nice throws, and manage the games is what we're going to get out of him and people should be fine with that.

Versus the 49ers or any team with a poor offense, yes. look at what Stanton did versus the Rams...that's the worry.
