My only gripe is losing BOTH Cam and Mikal at the same time. Wish we could’ve packaged Dario or Shamet.
Mikal was the centerpiece of the deal for Brooklyn. As for Cam, he was likely getting shipped off regardless. We just don't have the cap space to pay a role player that is going to command something like 20M per year.

Mikal was playing well, yes. But it's KEVIN DURANT!! How many times does that need to be said here? Regardless of how well Mikal has played, he's still not better than Kevin Durant. That is a fact.

This is subconsciously WANTING the Suns to stay mediocre. We can't have good things because we aren't willing to take any risk. Well, Ishbia said screw that and we're taking the risk. Our championship aspirations for this year are much better now then they were 24 hours ago.
I think a lot of posters haven’t watched Durant in a long time. I think we will see quite a few positions change direction.

How would you guys have felt if waking up today we traded for John Collins instead of KD? I don't think our Finals odds get a bump with John Collins.

Man! I sure hope we can defend someone, otherwise we are going to see some high scoring games. Can you imagine Paul and Booker defending Kyrie and Luka? Steph, Klay or Poole? Young and Murray? Morant?

Seems to me Booker is going to have to sacrifice some offense.

I like the trade but we no longer matchup as well with some teams.
Who stopped those guys prettade? They roasted bridges and cam.

Mikal and Cam combined numbers this year: 31/8/5

Kevin Durant's numbers this year: 30/7/5

You are basically getting the numbers of both players from Durant alone and then get whatever numbers of whoever fills in those other minutes. Maybe some of that is Warren giving us like 10 PPG off the bench.

You know our depth is literally the same as it was before the trade, right? We swapped two forwards for two forwards. One a HUGE upgrade and the other a small downgrade (if he stays healthy - the kicker with that comment is you don’t know who that qualifier applies to, cam or warren). Crowder, for an intents and purposes, was not on this team.
True, but our bench was not getting the job done.

Warren is a bit more of a shot creator, so hopefully that helps. But if Cam Payne isn't coming back, we need another scorer off the bench.

They are saying Sarver supposedly would not trade Bridges when KD was available last Summer. We all know how much Sarver loved Bridges. Mat comes in, and has the attitude, let's get this trade done. Literally two different owners view points.

Anyone think James Jones felt pressure to make the trade?

Adrian Wojnarowski Senior NBA Insider:

Finally on Wednesday night, Ishbia wouldn't go to bed, and he had his GM make one more run at a deal with Brooklyn. It worked. The Suns got Durant, and the NBA trade deadline was alive in the wee hours.

Well, I got to agree with Sarver on this one.

I have a feeling anybody that is familiar enough with him would not trade him, I think it is more about Mat's ignorance of how great he is that allowed him to send him away.

The Suns have 3 players averaging over 5 assists per game. This is good news for DA and the depth shooters like Lee and Shamet.
Imagine the open looks Lee can get playing off a Booker and Durant!

Yeah, lets be real, his job was on the line, he pretty much has to whatever Ishiba wants right now.

Oh I get it. I LOVE Bridges. I had Booker and Bridges as my two untouchables if we blew up the team. But how do you get a future HOF player averaging 30 points a game this season without be willing to sacrifice? The other team literally has the leverage.

It takes awhile for most NBA owners to grow into the job.

2nd round picks in the nba. The ultimate way just saying I got something for him

2nd rounders have basically zero value

Goran Dragic and Nikola Jokic disagree plus a whole lot more.

I don't buy this at all. You have a board full of people right here that know Mikal's value quite well and are happy with the trade.

Yeah, they hit sometimes. I liken them to lottery picks. I think you know more sometimes about G League guys than some of these second round picks.

And Mikal's last performance as a defender allowed Cam Thomas to score over 40 for the 3rd game in a row. This season, Mikal's defense has been a bit overrated by this board.
Bridges is a good, not great, on ball defender. He’s not lockdown bu any stretch of the imagination. I think he’s a great team defender. Passing lanes, help defender, steals, disruptor. That’s where he’s really earned his reputation. But anyone bigger or quicker than him gives him challenges. This isn’t sour grapes as he’s on his way out like many fans do. I’ve been consistent in these observations throughout his career.

I know I am going to watch Nets games, with Cam Thomas, Bridges, Cam J, plus the young guys they already had on the Nets. I think the Nets are like the Pelicans out west now. They are an athletic young team on the rise now in the Eastern Conference.
