wait...I'm confused. they knew he went into another stage...or was that the same stage he was at after last year's idiocy? either way, their decision making here picking up that option and not trying to renegotiate that bonus is questionable.

:shocker:

I find that hard to believe, but if true the Cards deserve this crap!

What a terrible shame !!!!!

I am truly disappointed, (no make that disgusted), with the news that D-Wash has done it again. The truly sad part about this is that this suspension has nothing to do with the pending outcome of his current court case. This is a completely new suspension for what must surely be a 4th incidence of substance abuse. That is totally unacceptable in my opinion.

This player has become a cancer on this team. He has continued to let his organization, team-mates, and fans down time after time, (this time by being suspended for at least a year). D-Wash does not deserve to be listed among the truly high-character players that line this roster. He has proven time and again to be a low-life, self-absorbed person whose only interest is himself.

The good only good part of this, is that I believe the team has this entire year to try to salvage something out of his disrespect and disregard for his actions. Hopefully they can find a way to mitigate his failures, while eliminating him from the roster. I don't know how this might be done, but they have a year to figure it out as I see it. The bottom line is that they must remove him from the constant devastation he has continued to cause to this organization.

Well said Fish! Keeping him on this roster sets a BAD tone for the team & other guys who have or will have drug issues in the future. It would also be a PR nightmare if #58 gets away with strike 4.

Cut his ass & be done with him

I agree with cutting him, (just NOT right now), due to implications in terms of dead money cost etc. I don't know how all that stuff works, but the organization needs to explore all the possibilities of how to divest itself of D-Wash, (while maximizing the opportunities to gain the most value they can get for him). Meanwhile, they need to cut all their ties to him, (officially and personally), so that he is not able to further harm this club. He has worth, (just not much this year).

That is all that needs to be said.

He will be 29 by the time this all sorts out and the organization has already been dealing with his problems for 1 1/2 years.

Thus for 1 1/2 year already, and what seems to be another 1 1/2 moving forward Washington will be hurting this team, and organization.

3 years total. Holy Moly what a horrible situation.

Get rid of DWaste and move on. He screwed us all, so he can go pound sand.

GM miffed at banned star

“It’s completely unacceptable that Daryl has once again put us in this position. We all know what the consequences are and will deal with them. From a personal standpoint, our hope is that this suspension will give Daryl the opportunity to accept the necessary help and guidance to get his life back on track and we will certainly support him however we can.

“As it pertains to our team, our approach is the same as it’s always been: next man up. We talk a lot about how critical depth is to a team because situations always arise where you lose players, whether by injury or other circumstances such as this one. One player’s absence is another’s opportunity. That approach has served us well in the past and we will rely on it now.”

Bad situation. Washington is probably done with the Cardinals but it won't likely be until next year. They will try and recoup some of his bonus. They took a gamble in paying his bonus and lost. That sometimes happens when you gamble. Another hole to fill and there are Ryan Shazier's in every draft class. Sucks that we now have another hole to fill on defense.

If you were told a year ago that either Dwash or the HB would face a year suspension due to pot would anyone have picked dwash?

Yes, most of us. If it had been HB wouldn't he only be up for a max suspension of 4 games? That and DWash's proven ability to be an off-field idiot would have had most of us picking DWash.

Well at this time last year we didn't know of dwash 1st offense. Also HB was under more testing because it was a clause in his contract. HB could have failed 2 tests in a years time from the draft to get the years suspension.

at this time last year, not only had Washington been handed down a 4 game suspension for pot, but he had already doubled down with some girlfriend beat-down action as well.

nada. it was in April I believe...and then a month later he got nailed for domestic violence. That right there made it VERY dubious for me to ever trust that guy as anything but a complete idiot. Already on thin ice and he gets himself into that kind of situation? Schmuck.

I hope the Cardinals are asking the NFL for an explanation why Will Hill only is getting 6 games after being nailed again while already in the program and Washington is getting at least a year.

We'd have to ask the Raven's Insider for that kind of 411.

Abraham tweet.

Anyway no reason to miss a test if u are clean or u cant forget about it,but i think 1 year of ban it s something should be reviewed by the son of a senator godell.

Athletes Should be more punished for the abuse of substances to increase performances, just like the rest of sports outside your country.

I can't tell if it pisses me off even more if this is true.. All he had to do was piss in a cup and everything would have been fine.. How do you forget to piss in a cup?
