To the posters who have used past suspension comparisons and label this one excessive. Punishment is supposed to be a deterrent for repeat offenders and an example to others. When the sanction does not have the desired result, it is time to boost the sanction. At some point some players might listen. Maybe not.

Those posts were when they thought the suspension was for his court case. No one is debating the 1 year suspension now that it is known he failed another drug test.

Agree. Not addictive from a chemical standpoint, but behavioral. Gambling is a good example.

This may be the wrong place to ask, but is there a difference in naming or treatment from a professional point of view. I don't know if I'm phrasing my question correctly, but I see a big difference between trying heroin or cocaine and developing an addiction to those substances, and the person that has an addictive personality and can become addicted to a substance or activity. Is it all labeled 'Addiction', or are there different terms to describe them?

MJ also believes DWash's day in Cardinal red are over!!!

Good riddance if true. He's unreliable & untrustworthy and hopefully he will learn his lesson

It costs nothing to keep him around at this point.

If BASK doesn't believe in his ability to stay clean, he needs to be axed immediately IMO! He looked Steve Keim in the eyes I'm sure when he signed his new deal saying he was past all this.

The bridge has been burned so I can see them cutting bait very shortly. He's obviously an addict IMO & his services can't be counted on!

Just keep his dumb A$$ away from the Honeybadger. :bang:

this was definitely a thought that ran through my head earlier today. keeping him around just sends a bad message to that kid. I'm pretty sure a lot of the defense is probably done with this clown at this point. dockett's tweets talked about not giving a crap and thanking all the guys who put team first. you can bet your ass he's not Washington's biggest fan right now.

Absofreakinglutely! Especially when you have a guy starting on your defense whom had serious problems with weed in college!

If this is true, he will be banned for life... What a stupid ass! All that talent to piss away 20 lifetimes worth of dough, chances at a SuperBowl and HOF possiblities for a drug (albiet relatively harmless drug).

He is the Chris Washburn of Linebackers.:mulli::mulli::mulli::bang::bang::mad::mad::mad:

I imagine HB has seen his team shrug it off and move on even though he is elite and notices that if he wants to remain, he needs to keep on keeping on.

What if the failed drug test came after he pleaded out in court.

Did he break any probationary requirements?

Screw DWash. So done with this clown.

Hope he straightens his life out, but I don't care if he ever plays another down for us.
