True but I was under the impression there was other money they could recoup? Perhaps I'm mistaken.

D-Wash forfeited $6.5 million for his suspension. There's another $3.5 million to be had, but would have to get through the NFLPA to get that back.

from June, last article I found......

Fuming over the yearlong suspension of Daryl Washington for another violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy, the Arizona Cardinals seem prepared to challenge the player's right to some of the $10 million option bonus they recently activated.

A source within the organization told ESPN that none of that money has actually been paid to Washington and conceded that one of the reasons the team won't consider releasing him is because it might no longer be entitled to keep a portion of that money.
When the Cardinals activated the option on Washington's contract in March, they committed $10 million to the team's most dynamic front-seven player in equal $5 million installments. Sources within the organization say that Washington will be placed on the reserve-suspended list after a positive drug test the player says was for using marijuana.
Washington's suspension will cost the Cardinals linebacker $6.5 million between now and December in forfeited bonus and salary.
He was suspended for four games last season as well.
Sources say there are two reasons the Cardinals won't cut Washington yet: His cap acceleration would be approximately $7.5 million, and they would not be entitled to recover some of the aforementioned $10 million option bonus -- none of which has been paid at this point. So rather than attempt to force Washington to repay the money, the Cardinals are prepared to argue they shouldn't have to pay him in the first place.

Its already been stated that he gets to keep 7 million of his bonus... The team ain't getting that back unfortunately.... :/
Does that affect our cap or does Mikey just get a nice fat stack of queso back? The other 3 mill.

Cop talk this morning was that Dwyers wife attacked him and was biting his face when he head-butted her to get her off and it cracked her nose.

Not exactly sure what I would do if some girl was biting down on my face and lips. I'm sure it wouldn't be gentle and discreet.

Sounds screwy to me. Dude is huge. He could probably man handle her with one hand tied behind his back. Even if she manged to get close enough, one shove and she is probably across the room. Sounds like Dwyers trying to justify. That's not to say that she is not possibly guilty in some aspects herself (if that story is true). Also, why was he so scared of her calling the cops he prevented her from doing so? If his story had any truth there would be physical evidence of her biting his face that would work in his favor?!?

Story seems fishy all the way around.

I saw this in an article yesterday, but cant remember from where, I had cut/pasted it into an email.....

"
PHOENIX - Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer allegedly head-butted his wife, punched her in the face, threw a shoe at their infant son and threatened to commit suicide if she contacted the police, according to court documents released Thursday.
The domestic abuse case began on the morning of July 21, court records show, when Dwyer allegedly tried to kiss his wife and remove her clothing while inside their south Phoenix apartment.
She apparently resisted, telling him to stop several times, and bit his lip in an effort to get away. Dwyer then allegedly head-butted her.
A witness heard yelling and called police, court records show. When officers arrived, they only saw the wife and her 17-month-old son. She told police she had been arguing with a relative over the phone and that nobody else was in the apartment, though investigators determined that Dwyer was hiding in the bathroom during the visit."

You guys are so out of touch and have no clue how violent and hard to handle a woman can be... Yes even for a pro athlete.

Comments like this "He could probably man handle her with one hand tied behind his back." Are straight up ignorant!

Had that happen to a friend. Wife went off on him. He never hit back, only blocked swings. She fell after one of the blocked swings and broke her wrist.

Of course HE got arrested and spent the night in jail.

charges were later dropped when wife and kids admitted that is was all her fault (physical part) and she got hurt from the fall.

If by "attacked" you mean "resisting his sexual advances and attempts to take her clothes off..."

Most stories say he initiated the incident by being very aggressive even once she told him no.

There has been nothing to indicate that she attacked him out of the blue and he was defending himself in some way...

Weird this is always your fallback position in these threads.

It's my statement based on experience(something I'm sure 90+% of you don't have) when people make ignorant statements like the one I quoted... ;)

Amen. If he is the initial aggressor, any self defense argument by Dwyer is an absurdity. Some fool defense lawyer may get stuck trying to argue this gal decided to initiate an attack on Dwyer and decided the best way to do so, was the go right up to him and bite him on the mouth. I don't think its going to fly though.

How is it relevant to any of these NFL woman hitters?

Well, God Forbid, but if I ever have a domestic violence situation I sure as hell hope you are the cop who shows up.

On the other hand, maybe not. Even a lip bite from a woman is no excuse to head butt her and break her nose. I would deserve consequences, no doubt about it.

If you can't see how a woman having the capability to actually hurt a man is relevant then your as ignorant as the comment that I quoted.

Can you please quote where I said that he didn't deserve consequences??? Ir that what he did should be excused?

I guess I am ignorant then, since you just keep repeating that but don't explain how the capability you are talking about is justification for Ray Rice dropping the woman in the elevator or Greg hardy who was found guilty.

Question: Not condoning this behavior at all but this happened in July. Why is this only coming out now? Why did she wait 3 months to go to the police? Was it because since the NFL has come out with a penalty for DV that she saw this as getting revenge on him? The whole thing seems weird to me.

She tried to get him arrested from the get, but the prosecutor didn't feel the need to go for a warrant until after all this other NFL News was on it's way. (I aint condoning &6%# either)

Mulli I know your MO you are a very educated man. You know exactly what my point was and what I quoted exactly and in reference to when I stated the ignorance portion. You like to incite and inflame and its what you do. Same reason your asking question that have zero relevance to what I quoted and was referring to in the original post.....

I never once chimed in saying Ray Rice was correct in his actions or that Hardy was correct in his or implied it. I simply stated that comments like this are ignorance at its finest "He could probably man handle her with one hand tied behind his back."

Nothing more or less. Your the one trying to turn it into that Im saying Ray Rice or Dwyer or Hardy were justified in their actions. Which like I said above is more ignorance on your part.
