Yeah it sounds like they chose that designation, not because they didn't have to pay him, but because he threatened suicide.

The suicide threat involves the actual incident. We don't know if it has any bearing on the decision to pay him now.

So D-Wash is getting due process?

DWash is suspended by the League, so what can the Cards do? And the way I understand it, cutting him now is a big cap hit to the Cards. Waiting until he is reinstated, and then cutting him, will be less of a cap hit. I think.

Some of the radio guys were calling for them to cut him regardless of the cap ramifications. They say his continuing mistakes prove he'll never change.

You're right about his contract though. Even cutting him next season raises our cap number.

The NFL is acting within the CBA, so how is he not getting due process?

His drug suspension is not part of any outside legal process and has been handled by the NFL in accordance to the CBA. His domestic violence issue has already been handled by the court and resulted in a plea deal. He has without a doubt been given his due process.

“It was like the worst nightmare a coach can have,” coach Bruce Arians told reporters on Thursday. “For me, personally, I was totally shocked because I’ve known John a long time. It was totally out of character from what I’ve known, so I was extremely shocked by the incident, but we have to move forward.”

I like Arians... A LOT, but when asked about Darryl Wasjinhton in relation to Dryer, his response was "Totally different set of circumstances."

That is BS. Only difference is Washington is a star AND has already been CONVICTED of aggravated assault, as opposed to Dwyer, who's a scrub and hasn't gone to trial yet.

Arians made it really clear that domestic violence offenders will not be on this team... Unless, possibly they are a superstar. That is complete weak sauce.

But didn't D-Wash's case come down to he was trying to leave and the "victim" went psycho? I think that was the gist of it, but I don't remember fully.

Correct. The victim had gone after D-Wash with a potted plant, IIRC. Dwyer punched his girlfriend in the face for not giving up the booty and threw a shoe at his kid.

That's what people here have said... But she wasn't charged or convicted... Of anything.

Just like Ray Rice's wife provoked him and that was a mutual fight. Potted plant never proven, woman never convicted or even charged.

Disagree. And I hope you're wrong. My thinking is if they want to recoup some of that money he won't want to tip his hand. It's going to be a legal matter when it comes to money. I see no way they keep this dude. They just want their money back and can't cut him now. Making a strong statement doesn't help their cause at this point.

In fact, the more they wait, the way things have been going, their case is only strengthened over time.

As I've said before her not being charged means nothing... If in self defense he threw her down or away or whatever and she breaks her collar bone he automatically becomes the primary physical aggressor in the situation due to damage inflicted on the body and will be the one arrested and charged...

Isn't split second the guy who keeps saying that Ray Rice's girlfriend had a role in getting herself knocked out? Not sure he's the best source of info.

I took his post as sarcasm.

Yeah, I dont think he was being serious about the Ray Rice case

He knows people who were involved in the D-Wash case.

True but I was under the impression there was other money they could recoup? Perhaps I'm mistaken.
