Your posts are implying Green is not in the same league as a coach as Reid or Belichick. I disagree, especially about Reid. You're basing your argument strictly on record (Green has over 100 NFL wins and multiple division championships too - that ain't too shabby - he's walked the walk before himself). I'm basing mine on what I see during games.

Organization and talent can make or break a coach. None of these guys are solely responsible for their success. Belichick didn't exactly set the world on fire when he worked for Modell's organization in Cleveland. Given equal talent, I think Green could flat out-coach Reid. In fact, I think he could beat Belichick some too but not nearly as easily or often as Reid, who I now consider overrated as a coach regardless of his record.

From what I'm hearing from some big-time Eagle fans, the meltdown we saw in the Super Bowl has happened before. It's a recurring problem for this team.

Rocco. All of this of course is just opinion and I respect your opinion so we just have an honest disagreement. This past year is the only year I ever really paid much attention to Dennis Green. I did not like a number of moves he made and I think was poor decision making on part of the coach. They have all been discussed on this board and people have varying views. Some of the things DG did that I did not like: (1) He announced way before training camp had even begun that McCown was the starter. I think he should have gone to camp with the job open to who ever performed the best. (2) He made a statement to the fans we were a playoff team when he must have clearly known we were not. (3) He fired perhaps one of our best and most experienced lineman right off the spot. This left us with as rookie to start a center and the lineman he fired went on to anchor a very good line for a playoff team. (4) He fired our OL coach after six games unexpectedly and replaced him with a guy without experience. (5) He pulled McCown after he had just won 2 games in a row to everyone supprise. (6) In a couple of games our team was totally unprepared when it came to clock management. It was as though we had never seen a 2 minute drill. (7) I think there were games where we were out of it that he could have used one of our two backup QB's to see what they could do and in Navarre's case gain some experience. (8) He had some good draft picks but we passed on a good QB when we desparately needed one. This is not hind sight as many on this board were clamoring for Ben R. (9) I never have heard DG step up to the plate and accept responsibility for anything that has gone wrong. He seems to me to be shooting from the hip without a long range or even yearly plan. (10) He was constantly rotating people into different positions. I think he needed to get some people in a position and keep them there for a while. There are more things I did not like but then that is just my non professional fan based opinion. To me his leadership skills seem to be lacking.

Some of you may remember arguing with me about this in past years but I've kept my mouth shut all the way through the playoffs.

So proof was presented again. McNabb hates zone defenses. They confuse him and panic him. Always have, always will.

So again, I'll restate my opinion that neither Peyton Manning nor Donovan McNabb will ever win the Super Bowl. Both have legacies of big game choke all the way back through their college careers. But the reasons are different.

IMO, Manning just gets too tight a collar. But McNabb gets confused. I'd love to have either one as my QB but with the full realization that my special teams and defense would have to win the Super Bowl for me. Either can get me there but neither can win it.

This is absolutely insane.. the guy was really 3 or 4 plays away from tying the game and because of some admittedly bad passes he won't ever win a superbowl? The team has been in the NFC championship 4 straight years!

I would lean more towards the notion that he did in fact have a concussion based on how poorly some of his throws were late in the game. I just dont get how the guy can lead his team to the playoffs just about every year and because of a few plays, questionable playcalling and time management that he can't win it all.

On PTI they were speculating about that. Fraley said he was exhausted and sick and on one play Freddie Mitchell had to call the play because McNabb couldn't get his breath to talk. On that ESPN segment they made no mention of concussion, but on PTI they said that there was rumor that McNabb's nausea was because he had a concussion.

McNabb has always been inaccurate but usually not missing high like he did in the Superbowl so I'm inclined to think something was amiss.

Poor Andy Reid.

Amid reports of Eagle players closing the bars in J-ville all Super Bowl week, and the effects showing up during the game in numerous players afflicted with cramps due to alcohol dehydration, he takes the blame for poor clock management, when his team probably couldn't have "hurried up" if they wanted to.
I don't know about the bars part, but the dehydration was definitely real.

A couple of Eagles linemen and Freddy Mitchell talked in some local shows that Donovan was having dry heaves in the huddle the whole time on the drive and that Freddy had to relay the plays to the team because Donovan couldn't even talk.

I'd be shocked that Donovan's problem was alcohol, because he has always been professional and focused on winning.

Interestingly two years ago he had the same problem playing in Jacksonville and was literally heaving. He took the team downfield in a hurryup for a touchdown and as I remember ran the ball in himself and promptly threw up in the endzone.

Also, remember Andy Reid is the GM as well as coach, so all the personnel decisions are his.

Yeah, there have been lots of reports around here that McNabb was sick, that he couldn't finish telling the guys the play in the huddle and that Mitchell had to finish it for him.

I don't buy the drinking theory, but who knows?

Jersey Girl, there are a lot of Cowboy and Giant fans around the Philly area. But they are all bandwagon jumper types. Why on earth would you become a Cardinals fan?

They are without a doubt the most miserable franchise ever known to man. I'm not talking smack here, just Bidwill is such a horrendous owner, I truly pity the fans of the Cards. I'm a long-time Phillies fan, so I understand the misery of supporting a team with crappy ownership. But I'm a Phillies phan by marriage and geography. Never in my right mind would I have chosen voluntarily to be their fan.

WIP is god-awful. I can't listen to it for more than a couple of minutes before I'm driven to turn the radio off.
