Meh. Warner isn't here anymore and we don't have a future HoF QB on the roster with a quick release.

Although Warner didn't get sacked often, he still took his fair share of hits.

Our only hope is if our QBs learn to use their mobility to their advantage.

Sure.

So back to my point.

I am more worried about kolb being the QB than our tackle situation. If Kolb would stand in the pocket and throw completions to Larry, he would feel less pressure on the next play.

I promised myself I would refrain from commenting on the specific QBs until the regular season starts.

I'll just say I hope for the best ;)

I just watched a few highlights from the 4and9ers 2009 season. Snyder didn't look anywhere near as bad as some people are saying. Snyder really seemed to do a good job of moving his feet to keep his shoulders squared to the rusher continuing to engage him head on as they moved upfield. Didn't just shove the guy and let him run by like our tackles did so often.

Like I posted the other day, the more I looked at it, the more I think Glenn is the Cards target to play RT. I'm okay with that. He fits the Cards mold in that he's big and versatile, and most importantly when it comes to the Cards and draftin in round1, he fills a need.

Once Bell started visiting other team I knew there was very little chance he would sign with the Cards. There are not many, if any, times the Cards win out on a competition for any player of significance that is in demand.

I dont think he would be a reach at all.

A guy who runs a scouting service, Russ Lande(?) is on with MJ once a week it seems, and has been saying a lot of scouts he talks to have had Glenn rated as a better prospect then Martin and some have him as the 2nd best OT in the draft. Thinks there is a 50-50 shot at him not even making it to the Cards at #13.

Huddlereport has him ranked 20th, and CBS Sportsline has him at #22. Not that big of a leap to take him at #13 IMO if you really want him.

My feelings are I see the need for Cordy Glenn, and I understand that he was an athletic college OT with decent production. However, it hurts that we might pass over potentially better players (DeCastro/Ingram/Cox/Barron) for what I see as a Rt at best. In the end, how much better is Cordy Glenn going to be at RT vs. Levy Adcock who might be had in the 3rd or 4th round?

I can see your point but, other than Barron who is way ahead of the #2 SS, you could argue that point with anyone. Will Ingram be any more productive than what Schoefield will give us? It's unlikely but Osemele or Brooks may be better fit, scheme-wise, than DeCastro. At least their impact could be about the same for the Cards. I would be surprised if Cox is even in the picture but he's also a good player. Glenn would be pretty much assured the starting RT from day 1. A guy like Adcock COULD be a starter but he also may even not make it out of camp.

so you're saying he didn't look as bad as our guys . . . that's still not saying much.

No I'm saying he's a better RT than what a lot of people have claimed in this thread. I said he didn't just shove and watch guys run around him like our Tackles did too often. He kept his shoulders square to the defender and rode the pass rusher past AND away from the QB instead of right behind the QB.
