Just gotta give Veldheer massive props for an incredible block that sprung Ellington. Not sure if you guys picked it up, but Veldheer literally tossed Clark aside so far, that Ellington actually ran between Clark and Veldheer on his way to the TD! It was Veldheer at his brute strength best!!
Golden had a nice block down the sidelines as well... However, that play happened because of the way Veldheer manhandled a very big, strong and tough Clark!!

It was also a really great playcall and a terrific display of trusting your teammates. Palmer took forever to get the ball to him but that was the play. AE trusted Veldheer to get the block and then took off and then trusted Golden to get the block downfield so he uncharacteristically stayed in bounds and kept going.

Great play.

That's one they will watch over and over in the film room to hammer that point home, everyone do your job, trust the coaches and good things happen.

As he was heading towards the sideline I was screaming for him to get down inbounds and then pulled a Stanton as I realized he was making a house call. Brilliant play call and execution.

If I recall correctly it wouldn't have mattered if he stayed inbounds as it would have been the 2 minute warning at the end of the play regardless.

I caught BA's post game interview and they didn't bleep out a s***. He was asked about the Ellington play and said he was yelling 'Stay in bounds, stay in bounds... well s*** go ahead and score'

lmao

Depends on how close to the 2 minute warning. If he goes out of bounds before the 2 minute warning it would have stopped the clock. Then the 2 minute warning plus Seattle's last timeout. So three stoppages of the clock. Cannot remember how close to the 2 minute warning it was at but did not mattter in the end.

That's what I realized afterwords. I remember him staying inbounds vs Baltimore so I got nervous there for a sec.

Loved that play. Was impressed by AE getting a block for Palmer earlier in the drive on a free defender as well.

Brittan Golden with an incredible block downfield. Awesome play all around.

The Golden block was huge in a lot of ways, as many have pointed out. It's a team game, doesn't matter if you're pro bowl, just take your coaching and be ready to play when called upon. For as much as we talk about selfless guys like Fitz, I have to believe if that was his block we'd be making a bigger fuss of it. Huge to step in like that and play the role of Floyd in that situation and stone his man the way he did.

He and Brown had some clutch plays near the end of that game, which can't be understated. That's how you build winning football teams.

That is what was so awesome about Stanton's cele. How many of us were doing EXACTLY the same thing in our living rooms.

Guys guys . . . you're missing the biggest part of this.

We successfully executed a draw play.

When's the last time that happened?

Also, they used to run the sprint draw with much greater frequency the last couple years. This year, they've cut way back - have to feel BA had that one saved for just this type of occasion.

With CJ out, and a pass heavy formation, it was just a brilliant move.

And NOW we know the purpose of all those bombs thrown on 3rd and short.

One of my favorite parts of that play is how Chancellor was looking for his jock strap over near Stanton.

Gutzy call that worked. If it it hadn't everyone would have complained why didn't they try to put the game away there.

Nope. There offense was anemic except for when we turned the ball over.

per Pete Carrol:

The Seahawks coaches were discussing if the Cards would run in that situation -- and concluded: Nah -- they are a passing team.

more Pete Carrol (per his presser)

the Seahawks had a blitz on the play that he thought would have blown the play up.

However, he noted the Cards o-line picked it up well, singled out Watford ( "their left guard") as throwing the key block that sprung it

The thing about the Cardinals is not many teams can say they have a back like Ellington they can throw into the mix late into the game which is fresh because we have a guy like CJ and even a rookie with speed like David :)
