Eh Big is gone now, I suspect he'll play well for them simply because he won't be dreaming of playing for them which should help, although I don't think it's going to make his speed rusher problem go away.

The amazing thing to me is how much has changed and still how far we have to go.

You often get the picture of some little league team from the wrong side of town with missmatched uniforms playing in the ritzy suburbs.

Long way from there, long way to go, dropping Big? I'm ok with it, would be more ok if they had a better plan to replace him but him not being here is actually good IMO long term.

For an intelligent player, Davis sure seemed to make a lot of unintelligent plays. How many penalties did he cost the team? And he never seemed to get better....

Simeon Rice was good here; Kendall, Chavous and Shelton were decent; Thomas Jones sucked wind. He only got good two years after waving 'bye' to the Cards. It must have taken that long for his hand to heal....

At the price they paid, Dallas needs Davis to be more than physically Big; he has to play smart and play hard, something that he only managed to do on occasion for the Cardinals. There will be games when he looks like he's worth the money -- and other games when his team is going backwards because he made a mistake.

I think Leonard Davis will be what he always was: A mountain of potential that gets paid like a star...and never quite measures up.

What?
My dream match up, follow me here...

NFC Championship game in UoP Stadium. Score Cardinals 27 pukes 21. Dallas has the ball at the 30 yard line with 8 seconds remaining. They step to the line for that one last shot AND...

Davis, offsides run off ten seconds.

THAT would be perfect.

that would be funny.....i have to admit. and i'm a cowboy. however...highly unlikely. I used to think the cowboys would always make the nfc champ. game. now i just pray they can win a playoff game.

What about Tampa letting Steve Young go or Atlanta letting Farve go.

Where was Faulk before the Rams and why did they let him go, dumb move

Eagles and Reggie White

Every team has this but it's more fun to make repeat the same snide comments about the Cardinals.
that is simular.
I could be wrong....but didn't the colts replace faulk with edge james. I think that was part of the trade deal if i'm correct. and the colts just flat out got much better after faulk left. not that marshall had anything to do with that. because a certain payton came to town.
Eagles lost white, but that franchise has recovered well.
either way i wouldn't worry too much. Davis was going to get a big contract.....just not from the cards. Hopefully the cards will get it together.

DAVIS COULD HAVE GOTTEN EVEN BIGGER MONEY

As eyebrows continue to be stuck in the raised position regarding the contract that the Dallas Cowboys gave to offensive lineman Leonard Davis, we're told that

Davis actually could have gotten even more money elsewhere.

Per a league source, the Giants were interested in handing Davis even more than the $18.75 million guaranteed he got from Dallas, since the Giants were recruiting him to exclusively play the more lucrative position of left tackle.

But Davis decided that he wanted to join the Cowboys, where for now he's most likely to play right guard. Down the road, he could move to right tackle -- and he possibly could be the eventual replacement for Flozell Adams at left tackle.

Wait. If they are going to pay him that kind of money doesn't he HAVE to play Left Tackle?

he may have to. The cowboys have a lot of money invested in their O-line and no one can really see them throwing money at hotel adams again at his age(not to mention he has had acl surgery). one of the other reasons that brought kyle kosier(of peoria/asu) there last year was because he also has played multiple positions. he could be a possibility as well if some are concerned about BIG being too big. the cowboys also got a young LT who will get some time there.
