Wow. Things are bound to go wrong when people aren't held accountable on any level. And this was the head coach of a professional organization where people are spending and making million dollar decisions.

Makes it easy to understand why so many of these players were showing so little improvement. Not only were they not being called out when they messed up, but they also weren't getting solid instruction on how to fix what they did wrong. Was he just expecting that after enough times failing he could just continue to feed them compliments and they would suddenly get better? Pure insanity..

Triano’s style is different from that of former coach Earl Watson. When Watson sensed that Chriss was unhappy not being in the starting lineup for the season opener against the Lakers, he took him out to dinner the next night and told him, “I love you.”

In one of the games an announcer type was saying that all Watson asked of the players is to show up on time and shoot well. I sort of dismissed it but I am now wondering if there is not some truth in it.

Good god, Watson sounds pathetic... an entire season of player development last year down the tubes. "You messed up? You're playing like garbage? It's okay, I love you, have a lollypop."

I will try to look at the silver lining and say that if Watson were not so stunningly inept we wouldn't have gotten Jackson.

So Jackson... stop making finger guns! Be a stud! And never forget... "I love you".

Well, Triano passes the eye test so far - he looks like a coach on the sidelines! Ever since Ainge started it we've had screamers. Coach in practice and don't distract them during the game - if you've just got to tell a guy something then sub him out and talk to him, and make a mental note that you failed to communicate something important during practice.
I liked something Riley did when he was coaching - he had all his assistants charting the players pluses and minuses during the game. It kept them involved in the game and the charts showed which things played the biggest role in winning and losing - ideal fodder for the next practice.
Triano is also saying the right stuff and I liked the fact he didn't throw Watson under the bus when a reporter game him an opportunity. I hated what Watson was doing with the team and I imagine Triano did as well but he took the high road in public.
I also liked what Chriss had to say about Triano and we all know what a jerk Chriss has been since summer league.
I don't think we are going to see any tanking for a while but the main thing is to get a good handle on what we have and what we lack in the youngsters we've got. With Watson it was hard to get a read on that. Then we want to see progress in team play and progress in the individuals.

When we get Sauce and Devon Reed back healthy this team will be deep and I'm very interested to see how Triano deals with that. As we've seen depth can be a two-edged sword.

I'm also interested to see what he can do with Len - and, as far as we're aware, he had little history with Len so if Len does go from a negative factor to positive he might want to stay here.

While I have really been a pro McD person, I am quite uncomfortable with him saying as much as he has in the media. I wished he would have stopped with.

"I didn't believe him. We sent him home."

The stuff about Rich Paul etc, would have been better if it had been leaked through Gambo or something.

His handling of Dragic before the trade was deplorable. McD ACTUALLY leveraged against himself by allowing it to get that bad. AND it was his fault the team had 3 PGs who aren't PGs.

His handling of Bledsoe's big contract was ridiculous.

His handling of Bledsoe as an asset is also stupid. He's leveraging against himself AGAIN. I can't believe he's so inept at managing his assets. Why didn't this trade happen over the summer before the draft? We all knew his time here was limited. His greatest value was this summer. We might have even been able to get a top 10 pick out of him. Could you imagine if we'd been able to land Dennis Smith Jr. as well?

Bledsoe has a history of being an upstanding leader. Seriously, this Tweet doesn't make Keiff's top 10 dumbest moments. For McD to call him out like he did is disrespectful to a guy that gave his all to the team and it shows a lack of professionalism. McD is coming apart at the seams. So Eric had a bad moment and Tweeted something he shouldn't have. What, no one else does that? And why wouldn't he want out of here? You just wasted a half of one of his seasons, and by all accounts the dude was respectful about it. For the millionth time, he doesn't fit the timeline. McD's emotional blow up shows he's losing it. All along I've been for trading Eric, but the way this was handled was embarrassing.

It'd never happen, but McD needs to be demoted to a lead scout type role. He is excellent at the draft. I spend way too much of my free time evaluating prospects in both football and basketball. I guess it's my hobby. I'm telling you, this guy is good on draft day. But every other day is simply terrifying. He either doesn't know how to trade or has no idea how to handle players. I'm not all too excited about the contracts he's signed either.

The guy is NOT a GM. He's just a really good talent evaluator.

This is about Bledsoe's people demanding a max extension right now and doing this on purpose to force a trade. Bledsoe's actions were deliberate.

Stop airing DIRTY LAUNDRY... and in doing so, actually devaluing your asset YOURSELF! Great... you don't think he's a MAX contract extension. Real great that every other GM can use that against you now you freaking moron.
