The Spurs beat the Celtics 61-53 today. The Spurs shot 37.39% and the Celtics only 33.3%. Since White and Butler are the only Spurs of note, it is not surprising they didn't score much although Butler had a good game: 16 points on 8 of 14 and 12 rebounds. Marcus Williams and James White each went 1 of 7 shooting.

If the Spurs were boring and unimpressive, the Celtics have a lot more to be discouraged about.

Rondo 3 of 8 shooting and just one assist and seven turnovers
Allan Ray: 3 of 9 shooting with 4 turnovers and no assists
Gerald Green: 3 of 10 shooting with 3 turnovers and and no assists
Glenn Davis: 2 of 8 shooting with 5 turnovers (he did get 9 rebounds though)
Pruitt: 0 of 3 and 1 turnover in 12 minutes.

Totally unrelated but did anyone else suspect that Allan Ray will eventually end up on the same team as Ray Allen? I mean, it just had to happen. To make the matters even worse, they still have Tony Allen. I feel sorry for the Celtics broadcasters already.

What does that have to do with their rookie summer lineup?

Or are you just here to bite some ankles and stir up another yelling match with suns fans?

Just wondering...If the Suns played "boring" basketball but won championships with it would we be bored?

Your concepts assume spurs fans are in denial that their team is boring.

And if you dont think suns fans would bring up the concept of being boring even if they won championships youre fooling yourself

and we all know youre not 'just wondering'

youre looking to stir things up

its not subtle anymore, you need to accept that.

Dude no need to attack me....just making a point.

A lot has been said about the Spurs being boring...Just saying if you're a Spurs fan its probably not so boring.

Is it ok to say that on here or do I need to be put on trial over it?

I can admire other teams for their strengths....can you?

Sure..... and I am sure you admire the Suns. The question still stands. Do you find your Spurs boring? It's a simple question.

I don't think that hating the Spurs is a pre-requisite for being a Suns fan. And yes I am pretty sure the last thing the Spurs think about is if their Summer League team is boring or not.

I love watching the Suns brand of basketball and I think it gives us the best chance for success with this roster. However, if I thought that a season of 61-53 games would lead to a championship than color me a fan of dull.

The Suns are definately more entertaining but I'd be willing to sacrifice some entertainment value for the sake of them advancing in the playoffs.

As a Suns fans I would take the championship anyway I could. As an NBA fan, I would skip the finals just like I did this year if a team like the Spurs were in it again. I really tried to watch the finals and it was agonizing to watch. If it wasn't for Lebron I wouldn't have watched what I did.

My point is if the Suns played exactly like the Spurs you would have watched the finals and cheered them on regardless.

...and you would have been excited doing it.

I would have been excited that they were there. I would have cheered them on because I support my team. It doesn't mean I would find their brand of basketball exciting all of the sudden just because they were there. Big difference.

Your style is your style regardless of how far you make it. Spurs were boring in the regular season and the the post season. Even if they saved mankind, ended world hunger and won the next 5 championships. B.O.R.I.N.G.

The problem with this "I'd take boring if it meant a championship" is that it doesn't work that way. If you want to boring, slow and slower, grab and shove basketball - then go buy a Spurs shirt and be done with it. IMHO, playing that way would not give the Suns the slightest chance of winning the championship.

Why do people think that the Suns can beat the Spurs by playing like the Spurs? All it will do is make the Spurs advantage all the more significant - they have Duncan and the Suns don't.

Playing KT is valuable, but in the end the Suns only real chance is to be able to get the tempo up and force the action. Yes the Suns have to play better defense and attack the boards, but their team is built on speed and cannot give it up just because the Spurs play slow.
