He's out of the league in one year. Crazy to see how when a RB is done, they are DONE.

Gives more credence to K9 saying DJ might not deserve a monster extension considering how old he already is.

I call BS.... he's only 24 and will be 26 or 27 at time if a new contract not 32 like AP..... many many RBs have had amazing 10 year careers... The guy is a special talent to let him walk barring anY MAJOR INJURY would be ludicrous...

I would rather franchise DJ for two years than give him a 5 year deal at 27.

Right now he is due
799k and will turn 26 after the 2017 season
899k and will turn 27 after the 2018 season
12 mil franchise tag for the 2019 season, after that he turns 28
14 mil franchise tag for the 2020 seasn and let him go after which is when he turns 29.

That breaks down to a 4 year deal averaging 6.9 mil per season without any long term commitment or risk of dead money. There is no way he takes that level of deal in an extension.

I would agree to this but it would be contingent on how he played in 2020. If he was still very productive then give him a 2 year deal. If not he walks.
