Rashada first team reps today, but offense kept getting false starts, had to redo the tempo period. Also threw an int. to T. Brown.

The starting QB position is like Cinderella's glass slipper. Dillingham is going around trying it on everyone and it doesn't fit. In the end, I think it will slide right on TB at some point prior to S. Utah. Unless something changes dramatically. Pyne is hurt and Rashada is very promising, but not quite ready for prime time.

Offense didn't perform well again today. Still thinking they light it up when they are going against some teams with lesser D's this year...

It takes time for the offense to come together. Southern Utah game will tell us alot about where the offense is. OK State Will gives a good idea of the true talent level (both physical talent and schematic talent) on the team

Rashada should not start but hopefully he can get some meaningful snaps in the first game

We may not know the starting quarterback for ASU for another 10 days or more.

Another interesting post practice interview with Coach Dillingham today. Man, is this guy unique or what?

He's asked about Ro, and immediately shifts to praising Ed Woods at the other corner spot. Sounds like he has really upped his game since last year. Good insights too on how he views the coach's job and how they plan practices to keep everyone challenged. Its going to be a very interesting year footballwise for ASU!

I caught a camp update on Speak of the Devils podcast and Dillingham was discussing building his culture. He was very careful to temper expectations and he was pointing to year three as that year he expects everything to have come together.

I appreciate the fact the coach is working these kids hard and building the program in his vision and also being a realist about it as well.

I really feel like the Devils have found the right guy

As the great Bruce Arians said " No risk it, no biscuit!"

Ya, that's kind of where I am at. I love TB and think he can do a good job, especially in the short passing game. But this is a long term deal. Why not go with the young guy to enhance his development long term? I think he can put more pressure on defenses with the deep ball. Problem though, he is going to make more mistakes and turnovers than TB. But let's just let it roll as far as I am concerned.

Interesting contrast after hearing about all the team bonding and togetherness at Camp T...

Coach Prime may be a bit more like this guy..

I hope Dillingham makes the right decision at quarterback because there are going to be some unhappy campers if he is wrong.

Give me the guy who can best get this team wins. Nothing to tank for in college…and I hate tanking anyways

What’s the right decision?

And no matter what decision he makes there will be unhappy campers

If Coach Dillingham selects a freshman as quarterback, it could impact the thinking of the other quarterbacks in regard to NIL and the transfer portal. The position would essentially be locked up for 3-4 years.

Sounds to me that locking up the position with quality for 3-4 years would be a good thing? Not sure I am following what you are saying

Having a freshman quarterback like Jayden Rashada for 3-4 years would be great if it works out like that.

What I'm saying, there are no guarantees.

Of course there aren’t any guarantees. Will never know if it’ll work out unless they try it.

For the record, I would prefer a veteran QB to start the season versus Rashada and to me that would mean they beat him out in camp. While there may be some value to starting him from the get go I also think you never know with freshman

Yeah, no matter how it works out, the Sun Devils are unlikely to be able to keep all their current quarterbacks with the transfer portal and NIL. Down the road, I don't think they will be able to keep both Pyne and Rashada. I'm hoping Bourguet hangs around if they go a different direction.
