You know what bothers me? People who say our fans suck because they don't go to games, or because they sell their tickets, or because there are more Bears/Cowpukes/Niners/Pittsburgh fans in our stands than Cardinals fans and then when the fans do show up and show some emotion, some actual caring, some actual passion, those same people make snide remarks about the booing or the criticisms or the analysis.
Those same people are the ones whining because we don't get recognition by the major broadcasts and complain when teams like Philly or Denver or Pittsburgh do and the only difference between those teams and ours is the fans passion. It's pure, it's simple, and it's freaking obvious. Fan Passion. They sell more stupid bobbleheads, more jersey's, more air-time-commercials, more cards, more tickets. Their season tickets are sold out for decades; I could call now and get season tickets for next year. It's all about fan frenzy and fan passion. And to come on here and whine because a few fans boo during a practice or analyse a practice. The true fans are the ones who went and cheered or boo'd, not the people sitting here criticizing them. The problem isn't them, it's you, you're part of the problem, sitting on your ass and saying let's see what happens in the regular season or let's see if they make the playoffs. That's precisely the problem. It shows a serious I-could-give-a-sh*t attitude.
Yeah, it's a long drive, it was a long drive for them too. Yep, they probably woke up at 4 am to go to work too, so they could leave early and go see the practice. No excuses.
I'd rather see 15k fans booing than an empty stadium. I watched games at SDS for years, since they arrived, and there was very little booing, very little anything, because our team was so pathetic we expected bad sh*t to happen. Expected it.
This post wasn't aimed at anyone in particular, it was aimed at a whole bunch of folks who think sitting on their ass qualifies them to render judgement over someone who actually went to see the players work and practice. Passionate fans go to see practice. We are so unused to it that they didn't even have a disciplined entry line, ran out of drinks, and had no organization whatsoever. To me, that's a great sign, because we're obviously learning to be a true football town. But don't sit there and tell me that it doesn't matter, if it didn't matter they wouldn't do it. Ya'll sound like Allen Iverson about practice.
