Kevin Kolb - If all his practices go like that, then there wont be a QB competetion for long. He looked like a bum. Put one on a guys laces, over threw Doucet so that it landed out of bounds, got picked horribly in the end zone and got swatted down. Not to mention, he wouldve gotten sacked on damn near every snap, he takes so long to throw.

My friend, whos not Cards fan but knows who Kolb is, said "Whos 19? hes way better than Kolb" Im like I know, thats Skelton.

Was so happy he got boo'd. Everyone feels the same way. Skelton needs to be named starter so he can get all the reps.

Wow...the bold tells me you're an incredibly horrible fan for praising someone getting booed on the team you allegedly root for.

Overall, fan fest was neither festive nor fan oriented. Pretty lame, TBH, but just getting to sit in the stadium and watch practice was fun.
:mulli:That is all.

I forgot about the batted pass and to mention how long Kobb was holding the ball. It was ridiculous.

Speak for yourself. I'm not happy a Cardinal player got booed at "Fan Fest". Again :mulli:

After what I saw tonight. I have to agree.

My favorite is the judgement of a person who did not take the time, money and effort to be at the practice on another who did take the time, money and effort to go to the event, and calls him a horrible fan, and questions if he roots for the team he is there to see when there is no other team there. LOL.

Oh, grading of "how good a fan you are" has begun already. :shakeshead: 1. Its a business. 2. We pay to root how we please, if you don't like it then fine, but respect your fellow fans, IMO, cause when you judge others, you are asking to be judged yourself. I will save the time for anyone judging me. How good of a fan I am is relative, but if you ask me I am also not going to be as big a fan as the person asking. Everytime.

For me? Do whatever! You are paying for it, so let'em know how you feel if your want, or blindly root in the positive if you want. I just wish I could be there, but the cross-country trip makes it hard. Nothing more fun that hanging out with rabid Cardinals fans at the home. Still smile when I think about how much fun that trip was.

Thanks to all for the updates, and pictures.

Can't we all just get along! :D

Not going to get much from this practice. But since its so slow right now anynews is good new I guess.

I thought Skelton looked head and shoulders better than the other QBs. He throws a great ball. His medium passes look effortless.

To me Kolb looked indecisive. He held the ball a lot. Lindley had a few nice passes also.

Can't comment on much else with out pads.

You have never booed the cardinals in any way? I find it funny when people get judgemental over booing. I scream at kolb all day from my couch.

Seems to be holding true that Skelton is the better QB per all these comments. A little deflating though as I imagine Kolb gets the nod either way. Start Skelton~!!!!!!

Andre Roberts dropped a ball early, but he caught several and played much better last season than his stats indicated, coach Ken Whisenhunt said. The Cardinals feel as though they had receivers running open all season, if only their quarterbacks could have found them.

This drives me crazy....

I went with my brother. After getting stuck behind an accident on the 101 we got there about 6 and walked right in. Very unorganized as there were no signs and no one knew which was a hot dog line and which was an autograph line. But we got our dogs and Cokes and ended up smack on the 50 yard line.

Skelton looked much better than Kolb. I didn't think the boo's were all that bad.

Horton was fun to watch. The guy is absolutely in to it. And he ran some interesting plays. I think he's going to have some surprises for us this season.

Fitz was the only player wearing the tight weight-loss shorts. We both thought he did look a little heavy. Still. He ran his routes noticeably crisper than everyone else.

Neither Dockett nor Feely ever shut up. Dockett talks to anyone within 4 feet of him. Feely was his usual antsy self. He made a few nice kicks towards the end.

The guy next to me ate 6 hot dogs.

Fitz has a VERY well behaved little boy. He was on the sidelines the whole time. They hooked him up to one of the pull rope-things at one point. It struck me that in 20 years he could be playing and we could be saying, "I remember when he was just a little guy at UOP."

Oh, and if anyone know where to get the black "Los Cardinals" T-shirts let me know. They were awesome. Saw a couple in the stands.

Guys that stood out to me:

As everyone says, Skelton looked good though he was a little high or too long at times. This was an issue last year.

Early Doucet made several great catches

Greg Toler looked smooth despite his brace and had a couple deflections

Ryan Williams made a couple nice cuts and looked quick

Levi Brown looks like he lost some weight

Patrick Peterson had great over the top coverage on a deep throw and almost got the pick. Wasn't fooled by Fitz's route at all.

Guys that stood out to me for the wrong reasons:

Lindley looked inaccurate.

Kolb, two times he threw the ball behind his receivers and they had to reach back to snag it.

LaRod trying to pass block is sad. Every time he tried it was a hold or it would have been a sack in the game.

Sampson had two drops

I enjoyed being out there and watching our guys. Floyd made all the catches and looks lke the real deal. Skelton had great touch on his passes. He was acurate with deep routes. He at this point is far ahea of Kolb. #17 Lyron byrd has very good hands and runs a tight route. Ryan Williams in the few plays he was in for looks explosive.

The main thing I got out of this was that Kolb continues to hold the ball too long. Over and over again you could see the pass blocking break down and he would have been hit / sacked but it was no real contact.

That being said, he did make the throw of the night when he roped a 25 yard pass between zone coverage to hit either Fitz or Jaymar Johnson perfectly in stride. You can see the talent there, but where is the head?

I would rank the QBs performance as follows last night:

Skelton Best throws but almost doesnt understand his arm strength

Bartell Never looked bad. Just kind of consistently slightly above average

Kolb Up and down. He keeps holding the ball like that he is going to end up with another concussion

Lindley No touch of any kind.

There was no way in hell I was battling rush hour traffic to get to this. I have to say this may be my biggest gripe since becoming a season ticket holder. Fanfest on a weekday in Glendale? No thanks.

This was the first time this has ever happened.. This was a no brainer.. Have you ever sat outside at the Tempe facility for a fan fest? That is a test sitting out in the heat without stands, concessions and limited space..

That's Richard. You watch him play in pre season think he's going to make a great #2 QB and then he throws a boneheaded pass that gets intercepted or proceeds to miss 5 or 6 in a row. Then just when you think its time to ship him off to the new Developmental League he goes 5 for 6 with a TD pass to the TE. Then the regular season starts and he can't play a lick.

I have the exact opposite attitude on this.

Are you a fan of the team or the player? If you are a fan of the TEAM you should be upset with a player if his performance on the field or actions off the field are hurting your TEAM.

As for the people who boo'ed Kolb.. Thanks for embarrassing all of the Cards and the Cards fans.. Personally.. Im already getting text messages from friends laughing at me for that happening.. I really dont why it happened either.. Its not like the guy had a full offseason last year.. He was then forced to holdout 4 days after signing his contract.. And then got a freak concussion to the back of his head.. Ya, I can see why he was being boo'ed.. Lame..

He gets bood because he is an erratic QB without superior intangibles and no pocket presence. The fans want a good QB and want whiz to know the fans opinions. Pretty simple if you ask me.

Freak concussion cannot be used when you get concussed every season. Beyond his freak concussion, he sucks. Runs into linebackers or hold the ball until he cant anymore and has to throw an ugly pass behind a receiver.

FWIW:

apparently the new CBA says no weekend offseason practices --

so to have a Fanfest -- it was going to be a weekday night, or no Fanfest at all

getting out to Glendale on a weeknight is a challenge -- but so to would be getting down to Warner and Hardy if you live anywhere north of the 202 / 10

That is what they said on the radio as well.

So weeknight, or nothing.

I don't think the Cards were expecting as many people to show up as did
