This is going to be somewhat complex since there are so many and I want to limit my first post to just 10 and at most 2 Hororable Mentions... I would have to say that this is the category that has really "flourished" over this past decade.. So many with totally distinct and unique stylings....

Again the same drill.. those whose career has been prominently from '95 to present and again in no particular order.

1) Ian Ball, Ben Ottewell, Tom Gray (all share the lead vocals for Gomez)
2) Chris Cornell
3) Damon Albarn
4) Peter Steel
5) Richard Ashcroft
6) Burton C. Bell
7) Trent Reznor
8) Geoff Tate
9) Maynard James Keenan
10) James LaBrie

Honorable Mentions:
Beck
Perry Farrell

Lord... so many others that I could (and I know) will be listed that I didnt include....

Chris Cornell. His voice is the only reason I can stand hearing someone sing "Be yourself is all that you can do" over and over and over. :)

Yes to Lenny Kravitz. Wow, I would totally love to, well, you know. And Adam Duritz, too. Hubba, hubba.

How about Bono? I think he's good.

Very solid list....I was leaning to put Layne Staley in the "pre-95" list because that is to me when he was at his best....

Jeff Buckley has to be one of the most (along with Bradley Nowell) major tragedies to happen to music over this past decade.... I'll never forget being in my college's computer lab and coming across a report on yahoo.com how he had drowned..... His voice was sensational...just a career that had so much promise...It's ironic how he died so abruptly into his career similar to that of his father......

I love "Mojo Pin" and "Last Goodbye".... Okay... I honestly love the entire "Grace" album.....

What's your favorite Everclear album? Mine definitely is "So Much for The Afterglow".......

I've always meant to ask you about the Moffatts... what album or song do you recommend for me to check-out?

Ben Folds, Usher, and Adam Duritz are awesome.... I love "Whatever And Ever Amen" and then my fave Counting Crows album would have to be "This Desert Life"......

Lenny Kravitz.... underrated guitarist as well.... Really enjoy "Are You Gonna Go My Way" album, but my favorite song of his is "Again"....

Bono I definitely would include the 80s listing, however, I do love their last couple of albums (especially "Vertigo")....What a "solid comeback" that was.....

Others that havent been mentioned yet:

1) Aaron Lewis (Staind)
2) Edward Kowalczyk (Live)
3) Rob Thomas (know a few despise him, but oh well :D)
4) Stephan Jenkins (Third Eye Blind)
5) Raine Maida (Our Lady Peace)
6) Seal (I'll probbaly be "flamed" for this one)

That's all for now......

The Moffatts broke up back in 2001, but Scott Moffatt formed a new band called "The Boston Post." I will PM you with some of their songs. They're interesting, to say the least.

Jeff Buckley has the best voice I've ever heard bar none. Sublime was absolutely amazing too, I know almost every word to S/T and 40 OZ (not a fan of Robbin' Tha Hood) My favorite Buckley song is probably 'Grace' then 'Last Goodbye' then 'So Real'

EDIT: My favorite Everclear is So Much for the Afterglow, then Songs from an American Movie Part 1. Which CD is 'Wonderful' from? Thats probably the saddest lyrical content ever.

That is a very solid list you added.... All represent a wide variety of genres.....

I can't wait to hear Weezer's new album...Will be interesting to see which direction that they take this time around....

I would have to add the following:

1) Matthew Sweet
2) Lou Barlow (Sebadoh/Folk Implosion)
3) Ben Kweller
4) Lajon Witherspoon (Sevendust)
5) Tjinder Singh (Cornershop/Clinton)

I looooooooveeeee Rob Thomas!!!!

Have you heard any of his new solo album? I must admit that I havent, but plan on checking into it soon....

He has one of the best pure voices in the business and is one of the better song-writers out there today...

I guess some tend to despise Matchbox 20 since their songs may be too mellow or monotonous to most, but I personally consider them to be pieces of art....

I hope Third Eye Blind does release a new album, however, they probably will never eclipse the greatness of their self-titled debut.... "Jumper", "Hows It Going To Be", and "Motorcycle Drive By" were just simply awesome songs......

Although...I did like "Never Let You Go" off of the following album, however, that of course got too "played out".....

Yeah... I definitely agree about Buckley's voice.... Just the sheer emotion that he managed to convey was superior to anyone else...... It was rivteting and yet just inspirational at the same time...... I havent listened to the album "Grace" in a long time, but must......

Have you ever heard "Sketches For My Sweetheart the Drunk" which came from the sessions that he was working on at the time of his death? It still will never cease to amaze me what potential that Buckley had...He probably would have elevated music to a higher standard that Buddy Holly was in the process of doing at the time of his untimely death as well.....

"Wonderful" was off of Songs from an American Movie Part 1..... I love that song a lot.....

I guess my all-time favorite song by Everclear has to be "Santa Monica"... One of the best songs to unleash some frustrations out to.......

Have you ever checked-out Blur before?
