Rush has widely been discussed on this forum since it was "expanded" to include music, however, one question has never been answered... What's your favorite all-time Rush album?

Mine would be "Moving Pictures" with "2112" being a not too distant second...

I will include their more recent releases which probably won't generate that many votes......

Anyways..discussion on their 4 live albums, EPs/Singles or anything else Rush related is certainly welcomed.....

I hate Rush. I respect them as musicians, especailly Neil, but I really think they are horrible. Rush and the Beatles are two bands that I really don't understand why people like them. Just my two-cents.

Couldn't have said it better myself.....

If I owned a gay bar I would play Rush 24/7 because it is that homosexual sounding

What do you expect from someone who thinks Culture Club was the most influential/talented band ever? :D

Edit: Seriously though.. we're all obviously entitled to our own tastes/perspectives/standards..etc, so I wont ask you to justify that comment or I wont attempt to defend my stance on their music whatsoever... :p

Well, at least you "respect" them as musicians considering that Neil in most cases is vastly considered the best drummer of all-time and Lee (his bass playing is innovative and vocals are amazing) and also Lifeson always proved himself as a very accomplished guitar player.... So, I'll at least give you some credit there.... ;)

I hope I dont "come off" as a "music snob" and trying to force my opinions onto others because I despise when people do that in general..... Also, not to take any of this personal or seriously whatsoever.... If I've been guilty of any of that then I apologize....

I would probably say Moving Pictures as well, A Farewell to Kings second as "the Trees" is probably my favorite rush song but the album is too short. But to be honest whenever I listened to Rush, I would listen to Chronicles or Exit... Stage Left.

RUSH frontman Geddy Lee has reportedly announced that he will begin work on the group's next studio album in the fall, according to New Jersey rock station WDHA-FM (105.5). Citing 2005 as a "family year," Lee was hoping to get bored enough over the summer in preparation for the rigors of recording a new CD. He also stated that he hoped to begin the new disc sometime "after the [baseball] World Series."

RUSH's most recent release was the "Feedback" EP, a collection of covers of classics popularized by THE WHO, CREAM, BUFFALO SPRINGFIELD and THE YARDBIRDS.

"Feedback" was RUSH's first studio release since 2002's "Vapor Trails" which debuted at No. 6 on The Billboard 200 and has sold less than 350,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

RUSH commemorated their 30th anniversary year in 2004 by playing dates across North America, as well as in Europe, where they had not performed live in more than a decade.

In a van...down by the river.
Its not their best, but my favorite is actually "Signals."
Lifeson's guitar work took a backseat to the infusion of the synth's....so as a result,a few of his lead's on a couple songs are some of his best work. Namely "Digital Man" and Analog Kid."

"Subdivisions" remains my all time favorite Rush song for a few reasons.
Lyrically because....I was 13 when it came out,i had been uplifted and moved across country and found it VERY difficult to find my place among my peers after going to the same school for the previous 7 or 8 years.

Sonically because....the drums are simply a beautiful work of progressive power. It was also the first Rush song i learned to play on drums the whole way through...Lol.

There are better Rush albums but i can always sit down to Signals.
